you put up a joke answer, people get all bent out of shape and take it seriously?
For example, questions that I've asked recently and the # of responses:
Is "diabolical mimicry" the reason why so much of the bible is similar to much earlier pagan myths? (3 answers)
Doesn't the concept of Hell violate the Geneva Conventions? (4)
Will all of you good christians pray to your god to snuff out the fires of hell? (7)
And then there is - Is it true that in Heaven you have to listen to Pat Boone and Jim Nabors 45 records constantly? (15)
Just why the hell is virginity considered a GOOD thing?? (15)
This doesn't always happen, some joke answers get few responses, some serious ones get a lot. But almost all of the answers I get to the serious questions are one line long and are usually a personal attack or telling me I'm taking things out of context.

I do find that to be the case ignoring challenges of faith I never found to make them stronger.
I one time asked a question that many Christians took out of context and started answering I added details to my question and I got only pagan asnwers.
Go figure.

Its easy to get upset about a joke. A serious question that requires reflection and thought may scare some people. Knee jerk reaction usually wins.

Because religious people, in general are too uptight. You aren't supposed to agree with "blasphemy" or mockery of god according to the Christian religion. It's another way of getting people not to think for themselves.
I totally get your jokes, though! Keep going!

We aren't all in here 24 hours a day and often miss questions.
However....2 Timothy 2:23 states "But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strife"
For the most part, I try to stay away from questions not asked in seriousness, but, sometimes I am either led to answer, or, do so anyway. :) (I am human.)
By your own words, you have shown that we are well meant to NOT answer all your questions.

If you were to ask me questions about my wife's background and character, that would be one thing; if you were to make jokes about her, that would be another. What many atheists may not realize is the depth of feeling some of us Christians have for God since they view Him as imaginary. I actually LOVE God, and it hurts and offends me when people make Him the butt of their jokes.

I have seen many questions and answers and I've noticed the same thing. Apparently, if they (Christians) can't twist things 'out of context', they get their panties in a wad or simply don't answer.
