It's best to cook on 350 but to check the temp to see if it's done, and I think that's what you were asking ,should be 160-165 on your thermometer!!!

Being a southern girl, we don't measure the temp - we just eye-ball it.....I would guess around 325 degrees. The key to awesome fried chicken is to make sure you dredge in buttermilk, then flour. Fry chicken in cast iron skillet in melted Crisco til crunchy & juices run clear. Turn with tongs often while cooking. Serve with true southern favorites such as mashed potatoes, peas, mac & cheese, corn on the cob and homemade biscuits & gravy.....Yummy!!

350 degrees is what temp I use. It cooks it slow enough not to burn the outside before the inside is cooked completely

Around 350.You can tell if it`s hot enough by placing the end of a wooden spoon in it.If bubbles form around it then the oil is hot enough.

It is 350, any higher and you will burn the chicken and it won't be done inside.
