If the military is aware of a persons criminal background for a sex offense they will not allow them to join the military. If the person has already enlisted, then they will be discharged.
Dependents are an entirely different story because the military generally cannot regulate that.

As with others, I'd have to say absolutely not! However, please note also that there may occasionally be someone on active duty who is determine to be a sex offender. That person will likely be awaiting or in the process of a courtmartial. When they are convicted in a civilian court, depending on the laws of the state and any agreement they have with the military regarding active duty personnel, they could be held in custody on base while awaiting a courtmartial and be designated a sex offender. Or possibly even have someone in the stockade or brig or whatever they call it on the base while awaiting a dishonorable discharge from the military and transfer to a civilian prison.
In short, there may be some reasons why there might be a sex offender registered at the base other than a dependant, though it would likely be for a very short period of time. The dependant as a sex offender IS the most likely scenario, however.

This is a loaded question. Things that get a person on the sex offender list can be as simple as indecent exposure (peeing in public when your drunk) to as harsh as rape. Some states make people that have been arrested in prostitution stings register with the sex offender listing. Just because they are on the list doesn't mean what they did is as harsh as you think. Some lists allow you to see what they were convicted of, some don't. It is possible that a dependent of a military member is on the list and living in military housing also. Some are civilian employees also that have listed the base as their place of work.

Active duty members would not be living on base or even be active if they are sex offenders, but the spouses is a differ thing. If there are sex offenders living close to you, you have the right to know who and where they live by law you have that right. Check your state laws but they are not allowed so many feet to where children regular and play.

there is an danger that the army asked and researched what it incredibly is he did that made him "a intercourse criminal" did you comprehend which you'll be on the intercourse offenders checklist in common terms for peeing in public? Say the bar is busy and you're in a small city you pass out returned to pee and the police force up, you're being discreet approximately it.. yet they get you on the checklist. it must be something like that or while he replaced into 18 and his female chum replaced into 17 that they had intercourse and he or she cried rape. could be a great form of issues and the army understood. i think of which you likely can survive base yet you DO ought to stay maximum of blocks removed from a college or registered daycare.

No, as a matter of fact if an individual tries to enlist and has something like that in their record they are disqualified from military service forever. I also would assume that if they are in the military and get charged and convicted of such an offense they would be in jail. Mabye your facts are wrong

You won't find any convicted felons on active duty. You WILL find dependents who are though. That's probably what you're referring to.
But to be absolutely technically correct and also to inflame your paranoia, there ARE sex offenders in the military. The ones who haven't been caught yet.

I know that here in the UK, nonces (sex offenders) are not allowed to serve in the forces if they have a sexual crime on their record. I think they'd probably be dishonourably discharged for bring the forces into disrepute if found guilty whilst serving.
Then again it may depend on the severity of the offence.
