The real answer is that if your hearing a voice telling you to do that -- you need help. And for those of you who said that you would, WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU!!!

First of all, I'd like to publicly apologize for singling you out, instead of just privately. I'd also like to say that the, "Christians," who send you hate mail aren't very good Christians. I was angered by some of your posts, and expressed it in an inappropriate way. I put my apology in front of you, and the entire web for consideration.
Secondly, to answer the question. Yes, I would, but first I would think I was schizophrenic or something. If I wasn't already, I probably would go insane. So, like many characters in the Bible, I would ask for proof the the speaker was G-d. Then, if I received proof, I would go to a psychiatrist to make sure I wasn't insane. If he proved I wasn't, then I would have to, as it was a commandment of G-d, and his will would be served regardless of my will and actions. However, (even though I cannot assume to know the will of G-d) it is unlikely that G-d would ask me, or anyone familiar with the story of Abraham, to do this. When he asked Abraham do so, it was a test of faith. Anybody who knows the story would already know (or think they knew) what G-d was really doing, and it wouldn't be a real test of faith.

Honestly, I think I and many others today would second guess that they had really heard God and they weren't just making things up in their head. Abraham was a prophet. And if I knew for certain that it was Him telling me that, I wouldn't do it but I would be torn in two the rest of my life. Not the right thing to do, but I am human. Hope that helps. Besides that, it's not like a phone call, generally you don't get specific instructions. Most Christians don't have that kind of faith, even though they attack others for not having any, myself included on occasion unfortunately.

God doesn't speak the way we speak his word is found in wispers that may be hard to understand and miracles, signs, and wonders. And secondly I would follow through if that was God's will. But he would not ask that because killing is against the Ten commandments.
And in the bible when it did occur it was only a test and God did not have the man go through with it.

God has a Pioneer musical amplifier with a 360 disc changer hooked up to it with some high tech speakers and a recording mic. He runs on a frequecy like XM radio but only born again Christians can tune in.
That's how they hear him

The age of blood sacrifice is over...
Jesus was the last and the ultimate sacrifice..
God does not accept human sacrifice..
So if a voice asks me to sacrifice my only child it is not a voice from God and I would not heed it..

No. I would kill no one. I would harm none.
By the way,
The Bible is not God's word. It was written by MEN. They wrote what they believed thousands of years ago to be true.
Also, those who say that God would not ask such a thing...Didn't he ask Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac? And Abraham didn't even question "God" there!

God talks to us today but ONLY through the Bible.
We can pray to God but do not believe for a moment that HE will "vocally" talk back to you.
God does not speak directly to an individual, that is what the word of God, the Bible, is for.

Well the people who blew up 9/11 said they did it in the name of "God"
Bush said God told him to strike at Saddam and AL queda.
2 different religions fighting over religion in "god's name? I dont get it.
No one is responsible for the thoughts they put in their head but them. Its easy to blame a god for it and has been a crutch forever throughout history!
And Snhceb (whoever that guy is that said yes to this question) needs to have social services evaluate his head.

If God told me that through my son all the earth would be blessed. Then yes. Abraham knew God had a problem. God made a promise to Abraham that through Isaac, all the earth will be blessed (ie Messiah will come from his seed). Abraham also knew that what he was doing was a prophetic model. This was detailed in Hebrews 11...
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called,”
In answer to this, Abraham was POSITIVE that God would raise Isaac from the dead in order to fulfill the picture of the coming Messiah. This is why Abraham answered Isaac and said, "God will provide Himself a Lamb for the burnt offering." Hebrews 11 continues...
"...concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense."
However, God did not do it that way. Rather, He brought in a substitution. Abraham saw the picture, and named the place, "In the mount of the Lord, it shall be seen." Thousands of years later, on that very spot, it was seen. God gave His only Son to die for the sins of the world.
