Brigham Young Quote-- And I would say, as no man can be perfect without the woman, so no woman can be perfect without a man to lead her, I tell you the truth as it is in the bosom of eternity; and I say so to every man upon the face of the earth; if he wishes to be saved he cannot be saved without a woman by his side. This is spiritual wives.

"if he wishes to be saved he cannot be saved without a woman by his side. This is spiritual wives."

This is not a mistranslation since he spoke in English. If he meant "perfected", he would have said it. Right? Yes, I understand that there is a difference between being perfected and what is required for salvation. Brigham did not speak in Hebrew or Greek. He said "saved", and he meant "saved". So to be saved, marriage was a requirment.

Beta: Finish reading the quote. "if he wishes to be saved he cannot be saved without a woman by his side. This is spiritual wives."

I agree that there is a difference. Brigham Young, though, apparently didn't.

Besides, you say "being reunited with Heavenly Father" is being saved, but aren't those in the Terrestrial and Telestial Kingdoms also "saved" according to the LDS definition? (1 Cor 3:9-15)

1 Corinthians 11:11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

Sounds about the same, to me. Guess ol' Brigham wasn't all that far off.

edit: if anyone is tired of you, it's because you haven't come up with ANYTHING original. Can't SOMEONE come up with something ORIGINAL?

It sounds as if you are familiar with LDS theology. You must know that we believe there are different definitions of salvation. There is the salvation from death. Everyone will be resurrected and receive a perfected physical body. But there will be different degrees after the resurrection. To receive the highest degree of salvation, which we call exaltation, a person must be married by the proper authority for time and eternity.

There is a difference between being "saved" and being "perfected".

The former is being reunited with Heavenly Father, while the latter is becoming LIKE Heavenly Father.

So I believe them both, because they are not in contradiction of one another.

Why should it matter to you? You are not saved by any means. You preach discontent and hatred. Get ye hence Satan. Crawl back in your hole you abomination. Benevolent BB
