Jesus said he did not come to bring peace. If you learned about Jesus your parents or friends may not like you because of it. It would be up to you to decide for yourself over them to continue to study and learn to Love Jesus and his words. This is where you would not let peer or parental pressure persuade you quit on Jesus. Your Love would be more for him than them. This was said by Jesus because traditional Jews did not appreciate Jesus and his teachings because he was against Jewish Traditions and some of the legalistic views of the time. Parents then may object to their association with Jesus. Their Love for him would be stronger than their parents.

In eternity, who will be my parents or my kids? Having parents and kids is a reality only in this limited physical world, and it will pass away. I have enough love for Jesus, my parents and my children. Jesus even moreso.

It's so easy to love Jesus--you can project whatever qualities you want onto Jesus, that's a one-size-fits-all character.

Real people, on the other hand, require relationship skills, patience, compassion, empathy and many attributes which take time and effort to develop.

Because they don't really know him. I'm sure he has something in his life style that not every Christian would be able to put up with if he was living in their house.

It's only until u live with someone will u then know if u truly love them.

Absolutely not true.
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house has denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. -1 Timothy 5:8.
Not providing the love, the security, and the human needs of a man's family is denying the faith, not keeping it.
A lot of people do not know that loving your family IS loving God.

I love Jesus and my children and my family, but I put Jesus first in my life because He will guide me. I want His will to be done in my life. May God bless you.
