So what in the world makes you believe that you can accept the bible as the word of god because it says so in the bible? The Quran says it is the true word of god also, as do many other holy books. Don't you think a little investigation is necessary? If we go simply by what each book says, then we have multiple contradicting words of god. What makes you think YOURS is the right one.
Please don't bother with the bible verses, I know the bible better than you do, that's why I don't believe in it. In addition, you can't prove a criminals innocence simply by believing them when they say they didn't kill your (insert loved one here). I'm sure you would want someone to investigate, now wouldn't you?

Some of you people have the critical thinking skills of a twelve year old.
The entire reason I mentioned that the Holy Koran states that Jesus is only a prophet is because your claims of having the true word of god are NOT backed up by other Holy Books, not even the ones with the same characters. Your belief is NOT the only belief, nor is it more valid than the others. Anything a christian says about the Koran can be said about the bible.. I know some of you think it's the oldest holy book out there, but I personally have a copy of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, which predates the bible by more than 2500 years. Did I mention that it has the original commandments in it? Yes, the very same ones the Jews claimed god wrote on tablets and gave to Moses, only the Egyptians have it written on their walls... still clearly visible today, and guess what, it was written directly by the hand of god too! What a coincidence? Have you seen Moses' tablets lately? Is Moses a real person?

I know, really! The Bible isn't the oldest (The Tanakh is much older) it is also not the most recent (The Quran takes that cake) and it seems to contradict both of the other two texts ,which kind of fit together quite nicely once you take the bible out of the picture...
After examining all three, it becomes glaringly obvious that the Bible is the odd man out...

That's a pretty bold statement to assume that you know the Bible better than everyone and anyone who would post on here don't you think? But to your question:
There is no absolute proof that I (as a Christ follower) am absolutely correct. If there were, faith would not be necessary now would it?
Since you know the Bible so well you should take comfort in the fact that Paul states that in the end if we as Christ followers are wrong, then we as Christ followers are the most to be pitied. We would have given up satisfying earthly desires for no reason and would have in retrospect lived a foolish life.
So, I live my life with a faith in Christ knowing that there are others out their who believe with greater faith than I in their own religions. It's a choice I make, and it could be a wrong one, but it's the one I've decided to live my life by.
Oh and by the way, according to our Holy Book, the Bible, Jesus claims to be God. In my estimation that either makes him right or complete nut job. I won't settle for "he was a great teacher, just not God". He's either nuts or He is who he said He is.
What kind of prophet would come and claim to be God? A prophet is sent as a representative of God, to claim such a thing would be unthinkable for a prophet, yet Jesus claims to be God. That's why I feel there's only 2 ways to look at him as stated above.

Of course Christians realize that other major religions, while they may believe that Jesus Christ walked the earth, don't believe in His divinity.
To answer your question about "investigation" I think that most serious Christians have not only done a lot of investigating, but continue to do so every day. Of course I'd want a loved ones' murder investigated, just as I investigate any unfathomable mystery, among which I count God in Christ.
What makes me think "mine" (Christianity) is the right one? The only thing I can tell you is simply faith. And faith is a gift. Don't know why I got it. But I am thankful for it.
P.S. I am so interested in your story....mainly, why would a woman who apparently is a Christian (your wife?) have married a person who so vehemently disagrees with her faith?
I am truly interested in this.

the bible was written by over 40 authors, from 3 different continents, in a time span of over 1500 years, in three different languages (hebrew, greek, and aramaic) all about the same subject and yet do not contradict themselves and they all tell the same story, like the 4 gospels. The Koran was written over 500 years after the bible, with one witness in one language, did not take anywhere close to the time the bible was written, and has numerous contradictions.

The Bible has been substantiated and verified time and time again by other documents of the times and by archaeological records. The resurrection of Jesus, for which there is credible historical evidence other than the Biblical record, is the foundation of Christians' faith that the Word of God, the Bible, is true. Mohommed is dead. Jesus is alive. The Bible and the Koran are irreconcilable. One may choose one or the other, but not both. Historical evidence favors the Bible. BTW, the Koran says that Jesus lived a sinless life, and Mohommed did not. Interesting...

Yes, and I also realize that the Koran was written 700 years after the New Testament and that much of it is plagarized word for word from the Bible and that it truly does have contradictions (for example the ways Christians and Jews are to be treated.)
Many prophecies in the Bible have come true, including dates and times of invasions and the creation of the nation of Israel. How many other holy books can say that? How many other people have been separated from their homeland for 2000 years and returned. How many other dead languages have been resurrected?
You may know more words and verses from the Bible than I do, but I seriously doubt you understand it better than I do.

The Bible contains writings of actual people who knew Jesus, such as Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Jude. They witnessed His miracles, crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and ascension. Did Mohammed? No. The Bible also contains many books of prophets, whose prophecies have been fulfilled. Some have yet to be fulfilled, but they will be. There are also historical facts that back up what is written in the Bible. I would challenge you to list all the prophecies in the Bible concerning the Messiah. And then list all the Scriptures where those prophecies were fulfilled. Do you have any idea the odds of that being recorded accurately? And yet every single one came to pass. Just start there--you may change your mind, and be willing to consider further the truth of the Bible. That is my prayer. (And congrats on the 154 stars. That is one prayer of many that was answered, for your wife, and for those of us who are sincerely praying for you.)

why do you care? you are an ATHEIST ( one that doesn't believe in God, gods, diety, the divine ect..) so why do you care. Furthermore, if you had read the bible like you claim you would know that Christians don't believe in the koran nor is it considered holy in the Christian faith. instead of trying to build hate between two religions, why don't you get a life and for a change believe in something. that way you won't be confused the rest of your life.

you've got a real issue with the whole "they all claim to be right" and exclusivity issue don't you...? Yea, there are a lot of people claiming, "I have the truth" but they disagree with eachother. So, obviously they cannot all contain the truth. But, if there wasn't a truth to begin with, there would be no one trying to find it and no one to mislead them. But, since there is truth, and a lot of it, why come to the assumption that no truth is true because everyone has a different idea of what it is? There are a lot of stores selling different mattresses, and each one of them claims to have the best one, at the best deal. But just because the stores don't agree with eachother, doesn't mean that there are no good mattresses, or good prices for mattresses, or mattresses altogether. One of them, or maybe a few of them, has the best mattress and one of them has the best deal. You have to test the mattresses and search for the real deal before you can just decide they all lie.

they have a poor awareness of Jesus. The Koran tells them to have self assurance the Bible, however the doctrine of Tariff (sp??) tells them to no longer. in the event that they believed the Bible, that they had have self assurance that Jesus is God. That God got here to earth in the style of a guy to take upon Him the sins of the international. To have His human style die on the flow so as that He might desire to enhance it up lower back, defying loss of life. To coach that He holds existence and loss of life in the palm of His hand. And all so as that people who have self assurance Him, Jesus, might have eternal existence - will pass to Heaven, to no longer have fleshly pleasures with perpetual virgin females and youthful boys, yet to be with Him. What might desire to be greater advantageous than being in the presence of God? they do no longer comprehend. It takes many, many cases in the previous they hold close it. and a lot prayer. The Holy Spirit on my own can open their eyes.
