I don't think so. But I do think it's rude to drop in on someone unannounced.

I can't imagine why you need to IGNORE anyone, but if you aren't prepared to answer the door, that is different.

Are you that important that you need to screen visitors and calls? Are you that weak in communications that you cannot say, "No, thank you" or "I don't want any" to a person on a phone?

Don't be a spoiled baby...answer the door in case it is an emergency. That phone call might be someone in trouble, at least find out before you PRE-JUDGE.

There is nothing wrong with doing what you want when you want on your time. People should call first before stopping by anyway. And as far as the phone goes I think most people screen their calls now.

I wonder what it would be like to do the Home Alone thing where Mccaulay Culkin turns on some mafia movie really loud!!! hahahaha!!!! Maybe I will try it sometime to a bothersome neighbor of mine.....
My advice to you: go near the door very quietly, then look out the peephole to see who it is, then decide what you want to do: if you want to make weird ghost noises behind the door or start playing some violent movie really loud to scare them away. (Please only use this to a bothersome neighbor) If they are a nice neighbor, answer the door and say "hi". Offer them a cookie and tell them I'm sorry I'm busy....can we chat later? Or I'll call you later..

I don't think so. Sometimes I am too busy to answer the door or I'm working and shouldn't be answering the door.

Same thing with the phone. That's why we have caller ID and answering machines. I refuse to be available 24/7.

I screen my calls as and don't answer to door for sales people. I don't consider rude because I didn't invite them over or ask them to call.

I think its totally up to you, its your home, My neighbor was way pissed at me (prob still is) cause I never answered the door. Too bad, its my home, and just cause my car is in the driveway doesn't mean I am home!
I never answer the door or phone!!

No, it's perfectly acceptable. It is extremely rude for people to stop by unannounced, and I suppose if they had phoned ahead, you'd know to the expecting them and you'd answer the door.

No, not unless they're annoying and call you like 18 times a day like my 7 year old neighbor does. They need to understand that u need time 4 yourself.

It's ok. It's your door and your phone. Don't answer it if you don't want to. Sometimes a person just wants to be left alone.

Door bells and phones are the rudest thing ever made.

Imagine if someone actually came into your house and shouted "brring brrring, bring brrring- i'm doing this untill you stop everything that you are doing, and come and talk to me!"
