Snack on Yummy Trail Mix
1 box Goldfish crackers (your favorite flavor)
1 box of Teddy Grahams (your favorite flavor)
1 can mixed nuts
1 big bag M&M candies
1 box raisins or craisins, sweetened dried cranberries
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl with a big spoon. Fill snack size baggies with trail mix. It usually makes about 12-15 bags

Camp-fire French Toast
Eggs
Bread
Cinnamon
1 egg per 2 pieces of bread
Syrup

Mix eggs in bowl. Cover both sides of bread with egg. Sprinkle w/cinnamon. Place bread in frying pan. Fry until golden brown. Top w/syrup.

Easy Camp-fire Stew
1 lb. lean hamburg
1 med. onion, pre-chopped
1 lg. or 2 med. potatoes, diced
1 can kernel corn
1 can pinto beans
1 can tomato soup
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown hamburger in a large skillet. Drain. Add chopped onion. Add diced potatoes. Cook until potatoes are nearly done. (Add a little liquid from corn to keep it from sticking.) Add corn and beans with liquid. Continue to cook until potatoes are completely cooked. Add tomato soup, salt and pepper. This dish is especially convenient for camping. It can be made in a large camp pot over a camp stove or a wood fire. (If using a wood fire, use a covered pot.)

Caramel S'mores
marshmellows
chocolate covered graham crackers
caramel syrup (in a squeeze bottle)

Cook marshmellows over camp-fire, when done place on a chocolate graham cracker, top w/caramel syrup and cover with another chocolate graham.

Enjoy!

For your dinner, any good cut of meat that you can wrap in foil. I did a roast once with potatoes, carrots and corn on the cob that was to die for.

For lunch, we always just take sandwich stuff. Remember the Tupperware bread box so the raccoons can't get your bread!

For breakfast (my favorite)
Take a bag of Potatoes O'Brien from Ore Ida heat them thru until the onions start to get translucent.
Now, add Jimmy Dean Spicy sausage
After all of that is crumbled and cooked, add however many eggs you want, cook and stir until the eggs are done. Remove the whole skillet (oh did I mention it should be an iron skillet) from the heat, sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top and let it melt.
During this process, wrap flour tortillas in foil and allow to heat. Just remember to flip them so they don't burn.

ENJOY!

Make "hobo Joe's" for an easy & yummy dinner. Keep 2 lbs hamburger on ice, then when ready to prepare pat out into four equal patties, laying each in the center of a large piece of foil. Layer slice potatoes, onions, carrots & garlic around - then sprinkle with your favorite steak seasoning.....Seal into pouches, then grill over medium coals til done.....Serve with toast or bread grilled as well......Yummy!!

Depends on your cooler/carrying situation. If limited and no cooler:

Peanut Butter, Jelly, Crackers, and Bread
Dried Salami, tortillas, cheese in a can
Trail mix
Instant Oatmeal packs
dried fruit
apples
Fruit cups
Beef Jerky
Oodles of noodles
poptarts

are all good no refrigerated, compact choices!

have fun!

Bannock

1 cup of flour
1 tbsp baking powder
salt and sugar to taste (approx. 1/2 tsp. of each)
enough water to make a firm dough (approx. 1/8 cup)

You can mix in berries, nuts, etc.
I wrap the dough on a stick and roast over open fire until golden brown.

foil packs are great and really easy. take some veggies like asparagus, peppers, onions, garlic, whatever you like, and put a bit of butter or olive oil and salt and pepper in foil. wrap it up and seal it. you can put this pocket directly in a fire to cook. its good with chicken or seafood too.
