Ah, I just left you a comment about this. I see that here you say, "suspected" criminal. As I said in my comment, you can hear all sides of the story, but if you have already made up your mind and prejudged the man, you will ignore truth, and an innocent man will end up wrongly convicted. It isn't just a matter of hearing the truth, but recognizing and believing the truth when you hear. You cannot discount evidence or truth just because it doesn't fit with your preconceived ideas. It is the same with the Bible. It does not stand alone, but is backed up with historical evidence. Why are you determined to dismiss the firsthand accounts of those who knew Jesus? Such as John, Peter, James, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Paul, etc. Their accounts are not recorded in just the Bible. Do a study on the Messianic prophecies, every one of which was fulfilled. What are the chances of all those prophecies being recorded in one book, and every single one of them coming true? If you aren't prepared to open your mind to the truth, you will never find it. God will not force you, but He will help you, if you really want to know.

Actually, it is entirely possible to verify a suspect's statement absent any other information, and this is why police ask for written statements. People tend to write exactly what they mean, even when they are fabricating information.
Here's an example of a fabricated statement that would tip police of a murder:
I was holding my daughter when her body lurched forward and I lost grip. That's how her head hit the ground.
From the suspect's statement alone, police would deduce that she was already dead since the daughter was referred to as "her body" rather than "she" in the first sentence. People tend to tell the truth, whether they mean to or not.
This fascinating field is known as forensic text analysis and is a mainstay of competent police forces around the world. The same principles hold for the bible, which incidentally, passes every test.
Here's a link to a tutorial on text analysis:

I feel inspired and my heart is changed. I am less selfish and more thoughtful towards others. I am more respectful of other people's space. God doesn't force us, He lays it out there and it is up to you to grasp it. Satan's way is one of force and control and there are many in his service that have not learned to respect the boundaries of others. We are to SHARE the Good News of salvation, and be witnesses by our changed lives. More than anything I am at peace amid turmoil and I choose to be happy. I make mistakes, am a sinner and most importantly, I am forgiven. Why would people be upset about a book that makes people better. Yes, there are fanatics but they would be there with or without the book. If anything Scriptures teach us the importance of moderation in all things including study. Mmm

Your question is a legitimate one. I take the bible as the Word of God, because I have seen evidence of God in my life. And I have faith. My faith has grown as I have read and studied His Word and experienced Him in different areas of my life and seen Him work in others lives. It is hard for unbelievers to understand since they do not believe, they have not experienced Him.

Now to Answer above said Question:
When you ask Jesus to Save you, the Holy Spirit Recreates your Spirit THEN comes and Lives inside of your spirit WITH YOU---therefor, you have the Spirit of Truth in you and HE will Lead and Guide you into ALL Truth and also, HE agree's completely with the Word of GOD (Jesus) Who is in the BIBLE.
Spirit beareth witness to Spirit--and since HE is inside of you, HE will show you the Truths in the Bible.!!!

Absolutly. I needed to examine the evidence for myself and guess what the concusion was?
That God is real, and the Bible is absolutly his book.
All the evidence points to it. If you are willing to examine the evidence, it is easy to prove the existance of God, and the power of the Bible.

The Bible is THE MOST preserved book of antiquity. It's validity is found not only in it's pages but it's uniqueness, historically, philosophically, and the miraculous way it is put together fulfilling the very prophecies it fortold hundreds of years after they were prophesied.
