I think you've got a cold sore which commonly cause by I think it's a positive RNA strand virus( I don't remember its scientific name), if so, then nothing is too serious, it will go away in due time. So don't be alarmed my sweet friend. Cold sore usually occurs during a winter season, but it can happen anytime when one is experiencing alot of stress. I don't want to bore you with all the mumble, jumble scientific stuff, but to be on the safe side, see your specialist for further details.

Take care my lovely friend & thank you for your kind words!

If it's bacterial....
Your nose, just like your mouth, is a mucus membrane which microorganisms love to live in. So yes it's possible to get the same infection in your nose.
Abreva is an expensive (about $16 for a tiny tube) but very fast acting over the counter medication that drys out the infection (the bacteria thrive in the puss) which promotes faster healing.

If it is herpes type 1 (mouth) you would need to have your doctor take a sample from the sore and test it to find out for sure. Just like genital herpes (type 2) you will typically only test positive for it during a outbreak. Genital herpes are sexually transmitted but type 1 you can also get from sharing a cup or kissing someone. I would recommend having the sore tested just so you know for sure.

Obviously if it's herpes 1 (virus) you would treat it completely differently than a bacterial infection. The Herpes virus hangs out in your sensory nerves between outbreaks and there are usually triggers that cause them such as sunlight, stress, sickness, and menstruation. Knowing your triggers can help you avoid breakouts or begin treating them before they become big sores.

Like the person above me said, genetic herpes is different than std herpes. I know because I've never given a ******** or had sex, but I have had herpes since I was born. I also get them inside my nose, (though rarely nowadays) and the best treatment is to just let it go away by itself (no touching it!). It takes about a week and a half.

Yes, genetic in that whomever in your family has herpes has passed in on to the next person which can be from kissing, touching a blister then someone else and spreading it or it can be passed on at time of birth. Anyway you put it...it's herpes. You need zovarix. There are some over the counter creams but you made need a prescription strength.

My husband has had them in the past and he uses the same medication on them that you use on the cold sores by your mouth. They take a while to get rid of just like the others, unfortunately. I wish you well.

they say it's an STD, but i can rember having these as a child, i'm past 40 now, the best thing is to try to avoid touching and spreading the germs to a larger area, try to put ice on a few minutes at a time,to reduce the swelling, and keep it moisturized with clean Q-tips as it starts to dry out, the good news, it will only last 7-10 days,

Cold sores are a different type of herpes virus than the genital herpes virus however, they can be transferred from mouth to genitals and vice versa through oral sex.

It might be a staph infection.

Go to your physician or a dermatologist :]

A dermatologist might also have suggestions for your little cold sore problem, too.
