I have great cardio endurance, so even in my toughest cardio classes my heart rate rarely goes above 162 bpm. Last week my allergies were horrible and I started taking Claritan in the morning. Suddenly my heart rate (in cardio class) was in the 170s. Is it because of the medicine or could it be something else?

Claritan made my heart rate go up too and I wasn't even in cardio class or anything. My Doc said it may have been a reaction and to stop taking it.

Ask your Doctor.
