The name Lucifer is derived from the Greek language. Even though Satan is given this name it does not show up in the Hebrew translation of the Holy Bible. In the Holy scripture it does say Satan will come as an angel of light to deceive. He was the most beautiful of all the angels God created, His body even had instruments built in to praise God. He became discontent with his position, and became jealous of God and rebelled. thinking he was greater than his Creator. For that He was thrown out of heaven, with a 3rd of all of his followers. from thence he was Given dominion over the earth. Until Christ came and defeated him on the cross to set us free from him. Lucifer was never demonized. He was God's highest angel. Then Lucifer got the idea to want to be better then God. He sinned, lied and went against God. God thru him out of heaven and gave the other angels a chose to fallow Himself (God) or Lucifer. Some chose to go with Lucifer (Satan) and they became his 'demons' or fallen angels.
Hope this helps explain.

Lucifer was never demonized. He is the one that created the demons. Lucifer was the most powerful angel in heaven and was in charge or worship. He had pride in his heart that wanted to be his own God. Once he allowed darkness to enter his heart. He was no longer worthy to be in heaven. The bible says, you can't serve to masters, so the devil wanted to serve himself and was kicked out of heaven to be on the earth.

I don't know, but I've always resented that.
My name, Eleanor, "means light--beauty or knowledge as blinding as the sun", so I take exception to anyone whose name means light being classified as bad in some way.
I always thought it was Milton who demonized the term 'Lucifer' since he had gone blind and didn't have any light to see with. I think my dad told me that.

lucifer is used once in Isaiah 14....son of the morning or bright morning star...everything satan/lou/devil/serpent does is to copy God and or Jesus..he was number 3 and wanted to be number 1....Ezekiel 28 is a good reference...satan was created perfect in his ways adorned with every precious jewel until evil was found in him....at that point when he tried to overthrow God and take the throne for himself satan became the son of perdition, sentenced to death in the lake of fire at the end of the earth age that we currently exist it.
just because that name is used, halil or lucifer isn't necessarily a bad name only it's associated with that piece of dung.
old guitar player for red hot chilli peppers was "ha-lil' and i'm guessing there are still israelis with that name as well.

Well--Venus is a pretty hellish place, after all. I'd be more than a bit hot-headed too, if I lived there.
