I know somebody that got tested for hepatitis c and i was told they used ice to test it. I wonder why that is?

they used ice to protect and preserve the specimen until it could be tested. ice is not a part of the actual testing process.

I am familiar with blood tests being done for hep C testing. I have actually never heard of using ice. I would tell her to go to the doctor for a blood test. Here is a site that explains testing for hepatitis.
