Sit-ups arent a great way to lose weight, but they will help. Some are saying no do cardio, but doing the work will increase your heart rate which will burn fat, not alot but some. If you want to look slimmer, do sit-ups and leg lifts, basically lay on the ground and place your hands on a bar or something and raise your legs slowly using your abs, and then lower them again very slowly. Doing this will tone the "tummy" area making you look alot slimmer

Sit-ups will tone your abs. They can tone the muscles, but not necessarily lose weight. The best way to do that is eat right and do cardio. Drink lots of water and eat lots of veggies.

Sit-ups don't make you lose weight, they just tone the muscle under the fat.

sit ups only build muscle and will make your belly look bigger since there is gona be more muscle underneath the layer of fat - they dont burn any fat.
the only fat burning exercise is cardio - burns fat all over your body (you can spot reduce body fat - thas something only lipo can do) - do it 4-6 times a week for 30-50min and combine with light weight training because cardio burns both - fat and muscle (more muscle=faster metabolism)
