Only keep healthy, low-fat, low-calorie foods in the house. I know, it sounds boring, but you'll get very inventive and come up with wonderful things to eat.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

That's a hard one for me, too, but I did lose 30 pounds. It's not always what you eat, it's how much you eat. I still eat fast food once in awhile, but I only get a sandwich, I skip the side. I'll eat chips, but I'll measure out a 1 ounce serving, I try to measure everything I eat. Start by cutting back on your portions and after you finish a meal, if you're still hungry, wait 20-30 minutes, and you'll see that you're not hungry anymore. That was a big one for me. I would grab seconds because I was still hungry, but it takes some time for your body to realize that it's actually full. Also, try eating more fruits and veggies, because they are lower in calories and will actually fill you up. I bring fruit to work to snack on in between breakfast and lunch, because I know I get hungry then. Try eating 5-6 small meals a day. Like: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. Depending on your weight, you need to eat anywhere from 1200-1800 calories a day to lose weight. Good luck!

If you are making frequent trips to the kitchen, reach for something more healthy. Instead of eating a donut, eat an apple. If you aren't a big fruit fan, or you just want something sweet, I recommend 100 Calorie Packs. The Oreo and Laura Doone Shortbread cookies are really good. Also, fat free chocolate pudding is really good.
If you really like fast food, choose healthier options. At McDonald's, get a salad with grilled chicken, or at Wendy's get a side salad to replace your fries and a grilled chicken sandwich. Also, drink diet soda instead of regular. For more of a regular taste, I recommend Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke Plus.
Good Luck on your diet!

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

When it comes to groceries, not only should you buy LESS food, but buy more that has les calories and fat. Cut out soda and sodium, and sugar, and only eat less than 1000 calories a day. Don't carry a lot of money, also, so you won't be tempted to buy fast food when hungry, and always carry low fat snacks. Practice restraint. Don't lay aroun bored, do something, get out the house or do something around the house, and watch less TV because, as you watch TV, you're more tempted to eat. When I wanted to lose weight, I ate less AND began to sew to keep me busy and out of the refrigerator.

i'm not going to pretend it's easy and this may sound a little patronising. when you're a toddler you have a star chart, make one of them for yourself. i use them simply because i get this silly little joy out of filling a row of stars. that way you can see how well you are doing and it gives you a sense of acheivement which helps motivate you. fill it in whenever you have eaten something good or not eaten! but remember it is so IMPORTANT to make sure you do not cut out any food groups, it is good to have some fat and sugar in your diet. good luck hun, i hope it all goes well. even if it doesn't don't beat yourself up about it, just remember it is the person on the inside that counts, i will always love you for who you are x

I love to eat also so I just try to watch my calorie intake. There are different websites that you can go to to learn how many calories you should eat a day to lose weight. I also try to exercise at least 3 times a week.
