Red spots on Arm?

I got red spots on my inner elbow (my arm crease) after I had an iv put in, is this normal? The red spots are about a half inch from where the IV was located.

It sounds as if the spots are irritation from the tape used to secure the IV. Many people experience this type of reaction. If the spots do not disappear within a few days I would seek an opinion from your physician.
