Why did menopause take away your self-esteem in the first place? Because it means you are getting older? Because you can no longer get pregnant? What? Because those reasons are bull. If you have no self-esteem....then I bet you have had self-esteem problems your whole life, right?

Think it's time you got some counseling---that is if you REALLY want to feel better.

Get some pregnenolone; a good herbal womens formula with black cohosh, and a good progesterone cream; those should help with a myriad of menopausal complaints, especially the depression it sounds like has you in it's grasp I also recommend dhea, but do consult a healthcare professional to find what dosage is right for you, as every body is unique.
To get more info about the things I've mentioned, visit the websites of Dr. Ray Sahelian, Dr. John M. Lee, and Dr. Lam; sorry I don't recall Dr. Lam's first name. If it's your skin you're worried about, or wrinkles, see a dermatologist, or your GP, and get a prescription for Renova, and Hylira, or Retin-A micro. These are all wonderful. So now you'll look younger, and feel better, and have the advantage of the experience and wisdom that comes with growing older, and there is much to be said for that; all those younger men won't be able to wee on you and tell you it's raining; indeed, you now have the upper hand, and there a lot to be said for that!! Best of luck to you!!

self esteem doesn't just go away when menopause arrives, if you had low self esteem to begin with, it is intensified, but it was always there. No one can give you self esteem, you have to find it in yourself. Take inventory, you've been alive the entire time, what have you accomplished, what do you want to accomplish, if you cannot find it in you then seek counselling.

It's more what it represents to you I would think.
Personally after being at the grace of my hormones for the last 30-odd years i am looking forward to the menopause ... yes, i might get osteoporosis and lots of other things will go down hill but it is a better prospect than the misery that is pmt.

You should always have good self esteem!!! Every woman is beautiful in their own way! Maybe through your looks, your personality, your love, either way, just tell yourself that you are beautiful and you will be! My mother just went through it and she had the same problem. So i treated her to a day out getting spa treatments, manicures pedicures and believe me it made her feel great!! So every now and then we will go out and everytime she thanks me for making her feel great!! And just remember no matter what anyone says, your da bomb!!!!! Good Luck!!

-Do something YOU would like to do!
-Go on a shopping spree (if you can)
-Go to the spa and get your hair done (a new style)!
-Flirt with a cute guy, not to get his number, but just because.
-Dress flirty and go out somewhere you wouldn't normally go.
-Spend time to yourself and get to know you.
-Find a hobby.
-Remember only YOU can do this, not someone else. You have to want to get your self-esteem back.

Take up a theatre studies course and dive head first into something new.
You are still tremendously valuable to everyone around you,

You are going into a new and calmer period of your life ( in theory)
