You are no offense slow on the uptake. The biggest investment a man makes is on suits as a cheap one can be read a mile away.
Guys switch out ties, shirts, undershirts and all of that. A good suit has to be cleaned and taken care of properly. Its not like having ten million outfits and the shoes that go with it.
Think of it this way.... a suit is a coat that goes over clothes, kind of like any jacket or coat that you may have. I would make the assumption that you are young, single, not hanging with guys that have jobs requiring suits or don't have a father that does so.

There is nothing unhygienic in wearing a suit for a week. Men's suits ,especially good ones are very expensive ,and most men would not have many, perhaps only 3 or 4 in their wardrobe. They would also have casual wear ,Most men change their underwear, socks and shirts daily but relatively few would change a suit. I am referring to ordinary chaps here ,not wealthy bosses or such who can afford a much larger wardrobe.Ladies work clothes generally would not be as expensive as a decent man's suit.

Blimey - I get issued 2 pairs of trousesr, 5 shirts and one sweater per year as my uniform allowance.
Provided one dons clean underpants each morning, hygeine is adequately served. That is what underwear is for - to catch the drips and trap the skids.
My entire wardrobe
2 work trousers
8 ordinary trousers (slacks)
3 pairs shorts
4 pairs, chefs trousers
4 chefs jackets (whites)
7 chefs 'kerchiefs
12 bib and brace aprons
1 pinstripe suit - for weddings, interviews and funerals
1 tuxedo
4 sports jackets
2 dress shirts - to wear with the tux.
5 work shirts
8 collared shirts
12 T shirts
3 sweatshirts
16 pairs y-front underpants
40 pairs socks.
8 sweaters of varying thicknesses
30 ties, and two black bow ties.
5 cravats.
I don't wear jeans, and I keep a couple of pairs of old cricket trousers to wear around the house.

Yes, I have noticed this also. It's not that we're slow on the uptake, but us women are a little more hygienic than most of them. I wouldn't dream of wearing the same clothes two days in a row to work.

There's nothing unhygienic about it. They wear underwear and shirts under the suit pants and jacket. What's wrong with that? I work in an office with about 10 men. It's my observation that none of them wear the same suit every day anywya.

They know perfectly well that the guy wears the same suit - they also spot the whiff through the aftershave during the summer.

I dont think it matters much in terms of the jacket - when I see the skanky bloke I work with in the same creased trousers day in day out it makes me gag though!!! I want to know when they get a chance to get them dry cleaned? Surely the dry cleaners are shut on sunday so cant do it on just saturday???? Yuckkkkkkk
