People are all the time talking about going to heaven. How do we get there, what are we going to do there, etc. My question is from God's point of view. Do you think God/Allah/whoever you worship actually WANTS you to be in heaven with Him? This is a sincere question. Do think He is up there saying, "Wow! I can't wait until John gets here so we can spend intimate time together" or perhaps, "I enjoyed creating Ibrahim and I want be together in eternity with Him."

Yess..... it says so in the bible for christians. Why wouldnt he want you to be with him? So he can say: "Wow, i really enjoyed creating Ibrahim, let me watch him burn in Hell.."

You are kidding right? You think God created you so he can "hang wit'chu" the rest of eternity? If God exists in any form we can understand, he wants you to strive to be god-like. Learn what you can. Create what you can.

Fundies amaze me. They say God created them in His image and then try to hold everyone down. Don't learn science. Don't learn other religions. Don't learn about other cultures. Don't experiment with sex. Don't try to learn God's mind.

Yeah, I bet God can't wait to talk to you about the restraints you put on yourself and others. It is the luke-warm he will vomit from his mouth.

I can't wait to go to heaven so I can ask God some important questions. "When those Nazis were feeding your chosen people into the fires of their ovens, did that bother you at all?"

My religion doesn't have a "heaven" or "hell". We simply return to the source of all that is because that's just the way it is. It has nothing to do with the "wants" of any deity, because from my perspective, God(s) is/are an impersonal part of the natural universe that is more than willing to impart wisdom if we seek it, but is neutral otherwise. We don't anthropomorphize our deities. When it's said we are made in His image, it simply means (to me anyway) that we are of the same elements of the universe itself. God(s) is the natural universe.

It is impossible to speak on those terms about what G-d 'wants.' Even most Christians would agree that G-d transcends time. Thus, G-d cannot 'want' anything in the same sense that we do. One must be without to want - if G-d exists outside of time, nothing can be fulfilled from his perspective - it already is and always has been.

Seeing as how he has gone out of his way to make it appear that he does not exist, I'm forced to wonder if this "god" wants ANYONE to make it to heaven. From what I can tell, the only people who actually believe he exists are people that haven't done their homework.

Nope... the gods just enjoy interacting with me while I am down here watching how I grow spiritually each life before I die and come back to have another go at it.

I don't believe in a god, I think that Buddha wanted us to try to become enlightened, that's why he dedicated his life to spreading the Dhamma. But since he achieved NIrvana, he would no longer have such emotions, he would be utterly still. This is why he didn't want us to idolize him...

I AM A CHRISTIAN, compelled to answer this question. I don't know what you are getting at, but obviously God wants us in Heaven with him, as does a mother wanting her children with her, a father his children with him.
