As a dentist myself (DMD), I can tell you that you will not find a dentist who will put braces on your teeth for only cosmetic reasons. This procedure would NOT be covered by any type of dental insurance and without the insurance this would cost thousands of dollars, insurance will only pay a claim for dental work that is actually required (ex: extraction, root canal therapy or those who actually need braces).

Why do you prefer braces? once I had braces, they have been painful while they have been positioned onto my the teeth and once I went to the orthodontist for an adjustment i could no longer consume for some weeks. It grow to be a liquid eating regimen. It stinks... here is something else to do...have you ever seen having a the teeth whitening scientific care or something like that? Do something small... Be greatful which you have impressive the teeth. there are a number of human beings in this international donning braces wishing that they could leave.

There is no orthodontist who will put braces on you if you don't need them. This is not ethical and he could even get in trouble maybe for doing it. Braces and the entire treatment cost several thousands of dollars. Why would you even consider trying to make your parents waste that much money for something you don't need and go through the pain and torture of braces when you don't need them? If you want to waste your parents money that bad have them pay for some poor childs ortho care that can't afford braces and needs them badly.

I dont think so hon... Their medical equipment. Its kinda like taking pills or something when you dont need them.. its just not neccessary. Their actually not all the fun to have anyway.. they get annoying, your not supposed to chew gum or have certain things, they make it sound kinda funny when you talk, lots of things can get stuck in them, and on top of that they can be really painful. Im in highschool and I have them and their not exactly the coolest thing.. I dont know, are you in middle school or something?? Maybe thats why the seem so cool, but believe me I used to want braces and want them soooo bad, and im glad I got them, but sometimes they really really arent all that fun! I know those fads and things can get pretty nuts, but just be glad that your teeth are naturally straight and that you dont need them! Wait until you get a little older and Im guessing you'll probably be glad that you dont have them!
I hope this helps! Take care! :)

If you don't really need braces and want to have them, think about the advantages vs. disadvantages first. An advantage might be that you look cool because others have it too. Disadvantages are 1>you might have to have rich parents to get you braces because they are expensive. If state insurance does cover for braces, they only cover if it is needed. I don't think you will find a dentist who will do that bec they need to support their recommendation of you needing it, like xrays and diagnostic cast. And besides, 2.> eating wouldn't be the same with them, at least at first. You will need time to adapt to having them in your mouth and it is no fun to have braces when you don't really need them. I'm sure the actress in Ugly Betty would say the same.... she is only wearing them for props. It looks authentic but I am sure it is not really cemented to her teeth. In case you don't know, metal brackets are cemented to your teeth, one by one and when you eat, 3.>there is tendency for those to be dislodged, specially if you don't follow instructions to not eat hard, crunchy food. And everytime that happens, you might find yourself in a situation where you need to look for those metal brackets and bring them back to the Orthodontist for recementing. And, 4> it is more difficult to clean your teeth once you have them... at least not in the conventional way of brushing and flossing because there is a wire that goes thru the slots of those metal brackets.

If your teeth aren't crooked, I'd say you look more cool than those people who have braces, don't you think? They need to "suffer" at least two years with it just to have perfect looking teeth. Why go thru the agony?

Why would you want to have something that is not medically needed? Orthodontics is considered a medical treatment. Would you want to get a heart or kidney transplant just because most of your friends are having it done because it's medically necessary for them? No dentist or orthodontist will ever do something that is not needed. So, to answer your question, no, you cannot get braces if you don't need them.

What?! Why the hell would you want braces... They're painful and expensive, and don't make you any more attractive.

Theoretically, you could get them if you really want, but it would cost thousands of dollars, and it would do you no good anyway.

Hope that helps.

I doubt very much that the dentist would give you braces if you don't need them. Your parents probably wouldn't go for it either. Especially when you do not need them. Very expensive.

Why the heck would you want braces?! consider yourself lucky if you already have good teeth. You don't want them. They hurt and cost LOTS OF $$$$$! Don't be stupid. It's a short lasted fad.

not real braces, no. But you can go to a cosmetic dentist and have grills put in. Very expensive, not covered by insurance.
