In a wedding where the bride's father walks her down the aisle, who walks her mother down? Does the groom or another family member escort her or does she just walk by herself? And how do you feel about the father AND the mother escorting the bride?

One of the ushers/groomsmen usually walks the mother down the aisle, then joins the groom and the rest of the groomsmen at the alter (the mother of the bride is the last one to be seated before the processional).

The only wedding I have seen the mother and father walk down the aisle was a Jewish wedding, and they walked the groom down the aisle. The father of the bride walked the bride down the aisle. Nobody escorted any other "relative", which is common in a Christian type wedding.

As far as both the mother and father walking the bride down the aisle... if that is what you want, as the bride, than go for it! It's your wedding and you should have whomever you want be your escort(s).

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials.

Usually an usher escorts the bride's mom down the aisle right before the wedding party starts down. (Mom is the last one seated) BUT, I've been to weddings where the bride's mom walks with the groom's mom.

As far as both parents escorting the bride? I'm a little mixed on that. I personally think it's too much, but in the case of an only child, I can understand it.

An Usher walks the Mother of the Bride down the aisle but it's a cute idea for both parents to do it.

Good Luck!

An usher usually escorts the mothers and grandmothers to their seats. And with the father and mother walking the bride down the aisle, it's totally up to the bride.

I think that the father and the mother giving away the bride is awesome. Otherwise do you not have an usher. The usher should do the walking your mom down the aisle and escorting her to her seat.

An usher usually walks the mother down. In my wedding it was my little brother. I don't like the idea of the mother and father walking the bride down the aisle. I think that should be just for the father.

An older brother might, or just the usher. At our wedding, my older brother, who was an usher, escorted my mom.
I think it's great to have both your parents give you away! Remember that pews can be moved, depending on the layout of the church, if you need extra width for aisle room.
My dad had passed away years before my wedding, my mom wouldn't walk me down the aisle, and I didn't want to walk alone, so my husband and I walked in together, with out attendants walking in as pairs ahead of us. It was great and showed our independence!

What I'm doing is having one of the ushers walk my fiance's mom down, with his dad walking behind (that's apparently the "traditional" thing to do), then another usher will walk my mom down, then the two mothers will go up and light the unity candle (I don't know if you're doing that or not). Then my mom will make a quick exit, and both my parents will walk me down the aisle. I'm choosing to do that because I'm much closer to my mom than my dad. They're divorced, but civil. It depends on what you want to do. My sister in law had her brother (who wasn't otherwise in the wedding) walk her mom down the aisle, so that's another option.

My brother is walking my mom down the aisle.
In Jewish weddings, both parents walk the bride down the aisle, which is nice because it sort of gets rid of that antiquated notion that the father is giving away his property to the groom.

The best man walks your mom.

I like the idea of both parents doing it, but be aware thats usually what happens in a Jewish wedding, so you may cause some momentary confusion for people! However, it isnt exclusive to a Jewish wedding and if you would like both parents to escort you down the aisle then go for it!
