The Ring Magazine has declared Floyd Mayweather the greatest of this generation. But I'd take Bernard Hopkins over Floyd. Hopkins was the undisputed Middleweight Champion, he defended his belts 20 times and has KO wins over Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya. Last summer Hopkins took the Light Heavyweight title away from Antonio Tarver and cemented himself as one of the best all time.

I know people like to watch the lightweights fight but i dont think either of them could stand up to the bruisers in the heavyweight division.People say pound for pund but when they say that its just for show because anywone who has ever wrestled or boxed will tell u the big guys can absorb a whole lot of punishment. So whichever heavyweight decides he wants to be consistent would have to considered,In my opinion

Four (or is it 5?) titles in four different weight classes and fought the best and the toughest in his division, never ducking anyone, it's gotta be Oscar De la Hoya. Although it's quite obvious that he's slowed down and his skills have diminished, he's still the greatest among active fighters.

Assuming Floyd Mayweather sticks to his guns and retires, I have to give the nod to Miguel Cotto. He is the most disciplined fighter out there, and he has hard, hard punches that can take out your liver. He just needs to fine tune his defensive skills and he can go farther than anyone out there.
Yeah, Manny Pacquiao is a close second if only because he is so fun to watch, especially when dispatching the "creme-de-la-creme" of Mexican imports.

Joe Calzaghe, just when is he going to get the recognition he deserves. Look what he did to Jeff Lacy. It was a masterclass in boxing.
