Peter. I think it is because I am drawn to his humanity. He stumbled...fell...yet he loves Jesus with all his heart.
We tend to focus on the fact that he denied Jesus three times, but overlook the forgivness he asked for and recieved!
Even at the moment of death, he did not fell worthy to die as Jesus did, so he was crucified upside down! Who among us would be able to do that?
And he was a fisherman...so...we have that in common :D

What I'd really wish for is that we had more of each of the apostles' writings, rather than be so one-ended with Paul, formerly known as Saul. From that, I would be able to make a better choice of which disciple I like.
But yeah, I like Peter as well. James, the younger brother of Christ, has some pretty choice words as well. I also like the gutsiness of I think Phillip who was walking with one guy, talked and preached the gospel to him, then challenged that same guy right then and there to be baptised in the river they were walking alongside. Man, if I could do that, be able to preach to someone then quickly baptise that person in less than a week, that would be awesome.
That's my two cents.
Thanks,
Alvin R.

Mary the Mother of Jesus for her unfaliling Courage, because she was willing to bear a child in a time where unwed mothers could be stoned to death. She had also the courage to face Joseph, despite the fact that he might misunderstand her.
Also, she had the strength to watch her first born be nailed to the cross, being humiliated in the most horrific ways but had the incredible faith to leave it to a higher power that all will be for the greater good.
Mother Mary's admirable Strength and Courage even by today's modern and assertive standards of women is still incredibly outstanding. She went against the norms of society Humbly, she sacrificed her physical being for her Divinity selflessly and she had the strength of Spirit and Conviction to bite the bullet as her Son was executed horrifically.
The women of the bible, though are only very fewmentioned, but where they are mentioned showed great Strength, great Intellectual prowess, great Wisdom, great Love and great Courage. All the way from Eve, to Bathsheeba, to Ruth, to the 3 Marys. They showed how the power of Mind and Wisdom superceded the power of Brawn and Aggression in almost every tale told

Onesiphorus.
He's real. Check out 2 Timothy 1:15-18.
A disciple is anyone who follows Jesus. Not just one of the original 12 apostles.

Peter is also my favorite. He made quite a few mistakes, and could fly off the handle sometimes, but Christ loved him anyway. The stories about Peter give me hope.

Of course we don't know much about most of the original twelve apostles. John was the youngest, took care of his widowed mother, Mary, after Jesus's death and wrote four books of the Bible. He was the only disciple who didn't die a martyr's death.

I agree, Peter. I can relate to him. He stuck his foot in his mouth, alot. Christ forgave him. He could have a problem with pride- He tended to correct people when he shouldn't have. Despite all of his short comings and mistakes (he was human) God forgave him and made a great man out of him.

Definitely Peter because he was " real." Peter is a great picture of us in that God's faithfulness can compensate for our greatest unfaithfulness.

I would agree, probably Peter. He was in your face with his writing and he seemed pretty dirty and tough and the type of guy that certain high-brow people in church wouldn't want hanging around the church. I can picture hanging out with him in a pub and just talking about God.
