KJV
Matthew 24:30,31
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet
Revelation 1:7-11,12,
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
I (John) was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.....and I turned to see the voice that spake....
Who did John see speaking? .... if you keep reading, it goes on to say THE SON OF MAN. JESUS.
Should verse 8 really say Jehovah in the NWT? It wasn't him talking!!!

LineDancer.... this question is for JWs because JWs are the ones that put JEHOVAH in Rev 1:8 and it plainly does not belong .... is there a reason it belongs there?

LineDancer... you can leave Jehovah there... because it is PROOF that Jehovah IS Jesus.... in one verse you say Jehovah says it.... next verse John reveals that he sees Jesus saying it.
If this doesn't prove that, what does it prove?

Sklemetti.... If the Lord who is coming is Jehovah, than by your own definition, you just called him an angel. See 1Thessalonians 4:15-17: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Why are you singling out JW's? You know where we stand on that. Sorry, sweetheart. I'm not biting on that one.
What do you mean "Jehovah" doesn't belong at 1:8? Who is the angel speaking for? The Almighty. Who is the Almighty? It's not Jesus. In the first verse, it says that God GAVE Jesus the revelation. The Almighty is Jehovah, the Most High. (Ps. 83:18) He is the same one that Jesus called the ONLY true God at John 17:3. To say that Jesus is the Almighty is to contradict what the Bible says.
Wow, you really are lost. The angel who is relaying the revelation is speaking for Jehovah AND Jesus. The context points out who he is speaking for. For instance, at verse 8, he is speaking for Jehovah, the Almighty? Did the Almighty ever die? Of course not! Ps. 90:2 says God is "from everlasting to everlasting." But at verse 18 the angel is NOT speaking for Jehovah, because as the verse says: "I became dead, but look! I am alive forever and ever." It is evident that the angel is speaking for two different people. One who is Almighty; one who had been dead but is now immortal. If you don't read the context, you will continue to be confused.
It is sad that you can't see something that is staring you right in the face. How could Jehovah and Jesus be the same if Jehovah GAVE Jesus the revelation? (Rev. 1:1) Did God give the revelation to himself? Knowing you, you will probably say yes.
You are also ignoring Rev. 1:6 where the angel says that "[Jesus] made us to be a kingdom, priests to his GOD and FATHER." So do you still believe that Jesus is Jehovah?
Matt. 24:30, 31 and Rev. 1:7, 11, 12 are talking about Jesus.

Sigh, you have such lame arguments that show that you don't read the context but have a trinitarian bias.
Rev 1:4 "from “The One who is and who was and who is coming,”" That is Jehovah God, not Jesus as vs 5 then names Jesus.
Rev 1:8 "I am the Al´pha and the O·me´ga,” says Jehovah God, “the One who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty.”"
Thus the Alpha and Omega is not Jesus, but is Jehovah God.
Now read Rev 4:8 "Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is coming.”"
This is Jehovah God and not Jesus because Jesus is not brought into the scene until chapter 5.
So get rid of that trinitarian bias and then you will be free to learn something.

Jesus is coming to power thus he not the same Divine being that was on the throne.
simple.
V.7 is Jesus - (Mark 13:26) And then they will see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory
V.8 is Jehovah - "the Almighty".
Who is the Almighty? Is it Jesus? Not according to the KJV.
Exd 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
> Who did John see speaking? Jesus.
Who gave the words to Jesus to speak?
...Jehovah
V.1 - A revelation by Jesus Christ, which "God" gave him.
(John 12:49) because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak.
In what sense is Jehovah God “the One who is and who was and who is to come”? Being the eternal God, Jehovah has at all times been the Almighty. (Ps. 90:2) So, in the indefinite past, he was the Most High. Furthermore, he continues to be the Almighty God and will come in that capacity to execute his judgment. As shown in other parts of the book of Revelation, Jehovah God will display his all-powerfulness at the time that his Son destroys all opposers of his sovereignty.—Rev. 16:14; 19:13-16.

Rev 1:1 A revelation by Jesus Christ, which GOD Gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place { Jesus was given this message by Jehovah God to relate to John} and he sent forth his angel [Jehovah did] the angel then presented the information to John in signs, 2 [the angel then] bore Witness to the word God Gave [Jehovah], and to the Witness Jesus Christ Gave, even to all the things he saw [John saw in the vision given to him by Jehovah's angel]
3 Happy is he who reads aloud and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and who observe the things written in it; for the appointed time is near. 4 John to the seven congregations that are in the [district] of Asia: May you have undeserved kindness and peace from "The One who is [ Jehovah the One from whom the message flows, "the King of eternity" and who lives "from time indefinate to time indefinate" 1 Timothy 1:17, Psalms 90:2] and who was and who is coming," and from the seven spirits that are before the throne. 5 and From Jesus Christ, "the Faithful Witness," "The firstborn from the dead," [ Jehovah cannot die, Habakkuk 1: 12; Jesus did die, he cannot be Jehovah for Jehovah cannot die. Therefore your argument is moot.

It would take a lot to break down each verse, but in short, Revelations is talking about Jesus specifically, and I believe Matthew is speaking about man going to heaven after the fact and those who are not witnessing the glory.
