I am going to NewYork on 30 June, a friend mentioned that they wont allow you in if your passport expires in the next 18 months, is this true?? Mine expires June 2008.

You are quite safe - you must have six months left on your passport for travelling to the USA and they are quite strict on this. Have a great trip :)

I don't think this is true, I always thought that you need at lest 6 months left on your passport. I've been to USA with just a little over 8 months on passport.

No you will be fine, it's not 18 months but 6 months. Even then they would probably let someone in carrying a UK passport.
