They aren't cool enough to believe anything other than that un-scientific rambo about humans evolving from the scum on the bottom of the pond.

The Idea of a God or Devils, angels, Suprapotentates, is besides the question of belief I think.

Angels, Devils and Gods are all expressions of our collective imagination as a species. This imagination builds itself int myths which give rise to religious practices.

The Devil, Like God, is a symbolic entity. He/She/it is a moral foil to God. As a symbolic entity, it fullfills Jung's Shadow portion of our psyche, a being that incorporates our baser and dark natures against the light nature of the angels the God and - especially- the Hero.

Belief is irrelevent against the symbol of the devil.

No. If one doesn't believe in a God they most certainly wouldn't believe in a Devil. They are like two sides of the same coin.

I believe that there is a potential for evil in us all tha metophorically could be the closest thing to the devil that actually exists. All that is good and evil can be found in the Human heart.

No. The Devil is nothing more than a created creature made to scare people into submission so they don't rise up against the elite and clergy.
