Emo is a somewhat ambiguous slang term most frequently used to describe a fashion or subculture derived from hardcore punk fashion and its subculture. The slang term emo is best known for its fashion style and attitude. Emo may describe this fashion or music, or a general emotive state (as in to "feel emo"). It is also, sometimes pejoratively, used to identify someone fitting a particular emo stereotype or category. It also is when people cut themselves to relief emotional pain.

An emo person is almost like a gothic person but dosen't necessarily dress in all black. Some like to hurt themselves like a cut on their wrist or something. If you saw Spiderman 3 when Peter has the black clothes(not spidey outfit) and the hair down, that looks kinda emo.

being Emo means that U have ur hair jet black an combed straight across ur face. (look at Green Day, they look Emo) some of my friends say that Emo people like to cut their wrists from left to right in small 1 to 2 in lines. Emo people like to listen o hardcore rock and punk music.

the worst thing on the planet. It's people who feel sad for themselfs for no good reason. They whine and cry about life and suck happiness from everyone else I think harry potter had some kinda EMO like creature in one of his books Dementors or something they suck the happiness out of whereever they are.
