I agree the chicken came first. These types of things like eggs have to do with procreation, things have to be created before they can procreate.

The Answer to this very old (and very leftist) question is: God came first, God created all there is. God therefore created the Chicken the Chicken laid the egg, and so on. .. What I do not understand since this question has been going around for at least 100 yrs, that the answer is not remembered.

The proto-chicken.
Life existed way before chickens or eggs were around.
Since an egg needs sexual reproduction, and the first life reproduced asexually the 'chicken' (animal) came before the 'egg' (embryo).

Dinosaurs were here before birds, and dinosaurs laid eggs.
Ergo, the egg came first.
Even if we add the requirement that it be a chicken egg, we could still draw a line between what we would arbitrarily call the first chicken. That chicken would have come from an egg, even if its parents were not quite chicken-like enough for us to call them chickens.
Ergo, the egg still came first. Q.E.D.

The Egg of the very first chicken came before the first chicken itself when the animal chickens evolved from laid the first chicken egg.
But eggs themselves came long before chickens

Since God created the animals and then told them to go and multiply, the chicken came first because it takes two to tango. Mmm

The egg of course!... the egg is a unicellular life form, its a very primitive conglomerate of proteins, amino acids and other substances... we can trace the whole chain of evolution from a simple unicellular organism to fish, birds, and mammals, us included in that category!...
