I spent 20 years in the Air Force and once retired used that training obtained in the military to further my civilian career.
The Air Force is the closest, in my opinion, to that of a civilian way of life.
Had I not chosen the Air Force, I would have strongly considered the Coast Guard!
Best wishes.

Missing is so funny- AF a great way of Life- it was the recruiting slogan for like 15 years!
To you laddie- DUH, It is Great and you should look into it.
Traveled everywhere, worked at things really important. It still is the military, but most days you "Go Home" after work.
Nothing is perfect and it has some draw backs- Deployments, Remote Assignments/ Seperation from Family/Long Hours/ et. al.

my youngest son is in the air force. he went through the ROTC program in college and was commissioned as a 2nd LT. (above enlisted airmen)
it is a LOT of hard work but is very rewarding for him. he is hoping to get stationed in europe(germany and/or england)in the next few years.
he has a great deal of pride and respect for the united states and gladly serve where ever he is told to.
the air force has taught him leadership skills that he will use the rest of career.(he can retire at 44!)
i am proud of him!
i have great respect for those who serve in all the armed forces.

depends on what you are looking for but on the whole, yes the Air Force is a great way of life.
they take care of their members better than any other branch of the military. housing is usually better and so are the bases.

I can tell you from experience that the USAF, depending on your AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code), has the best of everything. Best NCO clubs, best rec facilities, best housing, and definately the best chow. I can't tell you how many times other branch members would be TDY on base and tell us how we had it made. Again, it depends on what your job happens to be.

consider this. during the initial invasion of the war, we (army) got sleep in the sand/on,in,around our vehicles. air force gets to sleep in something with air conditioning.
you do the math.

are you happy with what you are doing now or do you want to change careers? Talk to a recruiter ( you can do this even if you are already enlisted) to see what other jobs you may want to do.

lol I dunno, but I know I took some kind of test and every branch of the military is trying to recruit me. I'll talk to my friend who knows a considerable amount about the air force and let you know :)
