you will still sweat even if there is a fan blowing on you...it's your heart rate that matters, not the temperature in the room!

you lose more weight while sweating but its temporary because you fill back up on it when you drink.

"Exercise Myth #1: The more you sweat, the more pounds you will drop.

Fact: Weight loss is not about sweating. It’s about burning calories.
What matters most about losing weight is that at the end of each day you’ve burned more calories than you’ve eaten. You want more calories (energy) “going out” than “going in.”

Sure, if you sweat up a storm, you’ll lose a pound or two in water, but it’s temporary. Those pounds go right back on. That’s because sweat has little to do with calories burned. Sweat happens simply because your body’s storing heat, whether while exercising or sunbathing on the shore, and you need to cool off. "

Sweating is just a way of your body regulating your body temperature to prevent you from going into hyperthermia ( opposite of hypothermia) As far as i know the amount of calories you burn is exactly the same

You burn more when you sweat, but exercise is supposed to be fun--you can run a fan. No one wrote a commandment, "Thou shalt do exercise and pass out from the heat."

I don't think you burn more calories when you sweat. But i know that you burn calories when you're cold and your body has to raise to normal temp. so go ahead and use a fan!

sweating is not a direct indicator of the metabolic rate, so heavy perspiration does not mean increased fat loss . there are many reasons that cause us to sweat or to not sweat some biological and some environmental.

when using a fan I would direct the airflow not directly on you but deflected off another surface (wall, etc.) then towards you
