The night before Bundy was executed, he gave a television interview to James Dobson, head of the evangelical Christian organization Focus on the Family. During the interview, Bundy made repeated claims as to the pornographic "roots" of his sexually driven violence. He stated that, while pornography didn't cause him to commit his crimes, the consumption of violent pornography helped "shape and mold" his violence into "behavior too terrible to describe." He alleged that he felt that violence in the media, "particularly sexualized violence," sent boys "down the road to being Ted Bundys". After the interview was made public, many who knew Bundy as a sociopath had their doubts as to the validity of his "the pornography made me do it" claims. In the same interview, hours before his execution, Bundy stated:[2]

"You are going to kill me, and that will protect society from me. But out there are many, many more people who are addicted to pornography, and you are doing nothing about that."

"I see that each and every answer is from a porn user or pro porn person.. "

No. At least one of the answerers did no more than point out a logical fallacy in your argument, question or whatever it is.

No pro or anti porn, just pointing out that correlation does not imply causation.

Why do you bother to put up questions when you can't be bothered to read the replies?

To explain more clearly, just because you are a dumb ignoramus, AND disapprove of pornography, it doesn't mean that your condition was CAUSED by thinking that pornography is a bad thing. See? People who make the same logical error will associate anti-porn views with thick arsed Internet ranters. Which is not necessarily the case.

Um, ok, so let me get this straight. You're saying that Bundy was NOT a sociopath, he was just a regular guy till the porn got him?

So....I enjoy porn. I should commit suicide to protect society from the inevitable Bundy that I will become?

So porn 'made' Bundy a sociopath? I think not. Porn is like so many other vices we have in the everyday world (porn, drugs, TV, music, work, alcohol, sex, etc.) a sick, diseased, or unstable mind can focus to much on them. Maybe part of the problem is that here in the US sex is such a taboo. In Europe they tend to censor violence and sex and nudity go uncensored and we hear of very very few mass murders in Europe.

millions upon millions look at pornography.. not too many turn into serial killers. Bundy was.. all together now.. INSANE. There is no point in trying to rationalize why he did what he did.

First of all, you need a better source of info the wiki.
Second of all yes porn can have a negative effect on people. Studies have shown that men who watch violent porn repetitively show less emotion toward violence to women in general and less empathy. They have unrealistic expectations of their partners.
That being said, ANY addiction is bad. It messes with your life whether it be porn, gambling, or drugs. When its an ADDICTION its a problem. All things in moderation. That doesn't make porn EVIL. It can be perfectly healthy. Just don't watch it five hours a day or anything.

maybe bundy liked his porn because of the way he already is, correlation is not causation. even if bundy did commit his crimes because of porn, that doesnt prove anything for anyone else. because bundy was one out of millions who are exposed to pornography.

So what one person (sicko) says makes you believe everyone who views porn is the same as Bundy?? He was sick to begin with and just wanted to cause one more bit of confusion before he died and it worked you are still talking about him today.

For every story like this about porn, we can cite 10 stories about religion's bad effects on society. Start with 9/11.

I'm not endorsing porn, but this argument doesn't help your cause.

Well, not everyone who enjoys a porn now and again is a depraved psycho killer. I don't watch porn personally (not that I never have - I have, and I'm not ashamed to admit it), but I really don't care if other people do.

Oh - and the Focus on the Family freaks - I have only one thing to say about them. They need to focus on their own damn families and keep their nose out of mine. Maybe certain people need to keep their nose out of other people's business and bedrooms.

It's a great idea - isn't it?
