Go into your attic and look for boards that are in the vicinity of the room you want it in. Get your drill and a cross board. Put the cross board (2x4) across the ones in the attic. Now drill a hole with a 1/4 "bit. Next get a bolt to fit it and use a chain to hang from it and let it drop through the ceiling. This is where you will hook up your 100lb. bag. Have Fun!
Hope this helps.

When I was a teenager I would use a hammer and nail to find the edges of a 2 X 4 in the ceiling and screw a huge eye bolt up through the drywall into what I hoped was the center of the on edge 2 X 4. It would've been better if I had had a stud finder and had pre-drilled the hole, or had climbed into the attic and reinforced the attachment with a long bolt and washer and nut and added metal and wooden supports but I had no idea back then. After a few months or less of light use the eye bolt would work its way out and the whole thing would fall down. I would move it to the next stud over. I worried that the stud might break but it never happened. The wooden hole always gave out before the board.

I hung mine from a hook I put in the ceiling of my garage, which worked okay until I knocked the bag and hook clean out of the ceiling....
I ended up getting a long chain and hanging it from a tree in my backyard.

If you have a basement with exposed floor beams, just cross brace a joist space with a 2x6 or 4x4 beam, nail it on both sides and you can hang over 300lbs on it.

Just hang it on a tree or something. If you have no trees, just beat on it as it lays on the ground.
