I've never had a bikini wax before. I have sensitive skin. I'm going to see my long distance boyfriend at the end of the month and was thinking of getting a wax before I go (I usually use Nair). I'm worried about having a bad reaction though and it looking/feeling really bad. Should I wait until after I see him so I can test it out first on my own?

If you've never had a bikini wax before, there is a good chance you will get a lot of red bumps and ingrown hairs if you have sensitive skin. You should either get one now to see how you react, and then do it again right before you go (recommended time between waxes=3-4 weeks) if you react well to it. If you have a bad reaction to it, you'll still have plenty of time to "heal" before you see him.

Don't think anyone should recommend changing a routine that works for an unknown prior to a long distance trip - don't take unneeded risks. Stick with Nair.

Your skin is hairless for 3-6 weeks after waxing.
I would schedule an appointment about 1 week before your trip.
My skin is very sensitive also and always get razor bumps after shaving, I have tried bikini and Brazilian wax 4 years ago and never got back to shaving ever since then - no ugly red bumps and lasting smooth skin.

Long distance relationships can work, but you are SO young. You need to live life now and enjoy yourself without feeling guilty. Enjoy yourself with him when you go back to Spain this summer. There is nothing wrong with having a good time with him, but then living your other life when you leave Spain again. Time will help you know what to do. Some of the answers will make themselves know to you.

Get it about a week before so any soreness has a chance to heal. But dont go for a regular bikini wax, go for a brazilian, they're much sexier.

if you are that worried about having a negative reaction to wax, use your regular nair before you go see him. that way you can start waxing after you've seen each other and you will find out about negative reaction to wax.

Hopefully this is for your swimsuit!
Waxing doesn't hurt to badly and the pain goes away after the first 10 to 20 seconds!
It lasts for a week to two weeks and is good for all hair removal.
Put baby power on whatever you are waxing before you wax!
If this is not so you will look good in your swimsuit...STUPID!

well do it about a week before you go so if you do get a rash or irrataion by chance then you will have time to care for it

he should appreciate who you are instead of the way you look. you may get red bumps all over and dont want that 2 happen!
