That is excellent! Look at it this way, my time is 2:39, and that beat the school record, and was #1 in the county this year. I am in 8th grade and have been running 2 years. 3 minutes is right near that! You will be AMAZING if you stick with it!!!

That's about average

If the 800 (half mile) is your event, then there's some great plans on KidsRunning.com for training (wouldn't be able to give advice for it myself, I only run the mile and up)

Regardless of what you do, gradually raise your mileage until you can run 4 miles 6 days a week. That should give a good enough base for middle school running.

I love your name! It proves that you are a star! I don't know why you didn't get any YES's! But, my answer is YES, that is good for a half mile... you just started up running as you said. My mile takes about 10 minutes, but I've just started after no races for almost 20 years...I ran, but no races. My 1st 5K was Sunday. Keep up the good work.

If you keep up training you will be running the mile in 6 minutes by 8th grade. You need to train without your dog at some point though.

that's really good.
Some of the girls on mi high school team get like 3:10
if you're planning to run the mile make sure to try to keep that same pace through out the whole race.

good luck!

That's pretty fast for anybody. Question is, what is the time for the entire mile?
