I had planned a trip to Hampton Beach this Saturday with some friends. But, as of right now, it looks like its gonna rain. I already stated that the rain date would be Sunday, but are Sundays not good beach days because it is more of a private, family day? And should I tell them now, or wait a couple of days to ensure that the forecasted weather is correct?

I'd say go ahead and postpone it a day... The weather won't be any worse on that Sunday even if it is or isn't raining Saturday. Plus, people can make exceptions on a Sunday to go on a daytrip.

Everyone complains about the weather, but no one ever does anything about it. :)

Make sure immediately that everyone know inclement weather proceedures. Sunday is a fine day for the beach, there are no rules of laws saying who can go on what say. Just be conscious there might be smaller children on Sunday and look where you're throwing the frisbee. There is no need to get all excited and call everyone today about weather that MIGHT happen on Saturday. In fact, depending on how severe the weather seems to be, often over cast or occasional shower days are better - you still catch the rays, the body surfing is better and no one comes out so you have the place to yourself. Discuss that with your friends.

Plan an indoor beach day with music and fruit drinks if the weather is bad. Have everyone bring a healthy appetizer.
