I propose that the act you call worship is inherently demeaning to any intelligent being.

Let's first ask, why should you worship something?

Reverence. Honor. Adoration.

So, how do we determine what deserves our worship?

In the case of god, you claim god deserves our worship because he created us, and loves us. Fine. You also say he gives us a CHOICE to worship him. But is it a FAIR choice?

Worship is the ONLY form of affiliation god will accept. If you reject god, you face a substantial penalty. You can not be god's partner, or equal, or even his disciple. You must remain his subordinate, and (here is the important part) YOU CAN NOT "OPT OUT." If you reject him, you are damned. You pay a permanent, vengeful price.

If worshiping god were truly a choice, then you could either choose to be rewarded, or to not be rewarded. Because god damns those who reject his offer, his offer is COERCIVE, and therefore not worthy of consideration by any intelligent, self-respecting being.

Wait, each and every physique is asserting that Jesus is God. it incredibly is SO complicated! i assumed that Jesus replaced right into a guy who met God or had some stumble upon with Him, and taught human beings approximately Him, and then replaced into martyred for believing in God. Or, that God made Jesus so as that he might desire to get the be responsive to God out and approximately. yet Jesus could no longer BE God, reason God isn't a tangible element, he's no longer even in the universe. considering the fact that Jesus replaced into born at a definite time, and God is outdoors time, he created time, how could he be Jesus? with the aid of the way, i'm speaking hypothetically, i'm an agnostic. If I have been a Christian, i could worship God. yet i'm fairly perplexed. might desire to somebody clarify the adaptation between Jesus and God?

Since your purpose existed before you did, and the Creator created you for that purpose, you really have no say so in it. You can, however, choose to fulfill that purpose and therefore become complete, or you may also choose to remain incomplete. That is the choice you have before you.

Jesus is the Way to know the Truth and receive the Life. In this unchangable truth is an opportunity that depends on a choice.

I hope for you that you choose wisely.

We all worship something. Worship is what you give your highest allegiance to. Ask yourself what is the most important thing in the universe to you. Is it money, or sex, or God, or perhaps it is simply yourself. If you can honestly answer this question you will discover what it is you worship. God asks us to place Him on the throne of our hearts, to give all of our allegiance to his will. This is not easy to do, and in most cases it does not happen overnight. I have been struggling to do this for more than twenty years. Just when you think God is the only thing ruling your life, BOOM you do or say something that reveals that money or the desire for human respect is still fighting it out with God for dominance in your soul. Patience is indeed a virtue.

Well, to give them some credit, many biblical scholars think that in the End times, the non-believers will simply cease to exist. Burst of flames, and poof. There isn't any eternal torture, simply non-existance. Lack of eternal life and worship.

However, for those who do preach eternal damnation, this is a good point. But one that they will likely not take kindly. After all, those few seem to take a lot of pleasure from thinking about all the people who don't agree with them being damned.

They will probably say that their love for him is based on Jesus sacrificing himself for our sins, etc. Well, that's nice, but it doesn't counteract the coersion. Jesus chose to die. I didn't ask him to die for me. I am under no obligation, since it was his choice. End of argument.

I disagree with your proposal. I don't think you really understand the concept of God.

God is:
+ The infinite divine being
+ Omniscient (all-knowing)
+ Omnipresent
+ Omnipotent
+ Righteous

God has revealed himself as:
+ The "One who is"
+ Truth and love
+ Creator of all that is
+ The author of divine revelation
+ The source of salvation

And, of course, God is love.

If any intelligent person truly believes in the one true God of Abraham as do the Jews, Christians, and Muslims then that person understands that God is due worship simply because He is God.

There is no real choice for any faith-filled intelligent person.

If one chooses to reject and turn away from God then God will respect his or her free will decision to be separated from Him forever.

With love in Christ.

I suppose the validity of that argument is based on a person's interpretation of hell. Depictions of hell range from the classic burning, sulfur, lake of fire interpretation depicted in dante's inferno to a simple isolation from God and heaven. The latter interpretation give you exactly the "opt out" option you were looking for. Hell is simply being kept out of heaven and away from God. I'm not an accomplished biblical scholar or anything though, but there you go.

Since when does any creation think it can be the equal of its creator? I have a dog at our home. He is not my equal, he is our family pet. He is cared for because of our affection.

We are created in the spiritual image of God, but we are still created. We can opt out of worshiping Him. What you're complaining about is that there is a consequence for our action. Perhaps you've forgotten that life is full of consequences for your actions.

Behind your rant is one simple fact: You are too proud to admit that you are not perfect, that you are in need of a Savior. You are too proud to bow your knee to anybody, even one who is your superior.

The simple truth is that you will, one day, acknowledge Jesus as Lord. The problem that you have is this, do you do it now and assure your place in Heaven, or do you wait until your earthly body dies, until it is too late to make that decision on your own? Frankly, I pray you are not a procrastinator. Throw your ego out of the way.

Our actions alone are not enough to keep us out of hell. We cannot earn a place in Heaven by works. We are saved by God's Grace and the belief in His Son. What we do after being saved determines our rewards in Heaven.

I CHOOSE to worship Him because He saved me from eternal damnation. If I don't worship Him or have fellowship with Him, it is my loss, not His.

As an Atheist I don't understand the need to tear into another person because of what they believe or why they believe it.

If it's not for you....or it makes no sense to you then make a decision for yourself.

Wow....how hard is that.
