You have to know where the non custodial parent is. I have never heard of the Attorney General's Office (Child Support) assisting in locating the other parent for support. Unfortunatly, there are so many dead-beat parents that do not want to stand up and take responsiblity so there is no time to "find" people but what is even sadder is that even if you do know where the non custodial parent is you can report their information even still there maybe a delay in support. MY PERSONAL OPINION. the system sucks!!!!! They dont always help parents with obtaining support because there is so much red tape and the case load is so huge unless you can afford legal representation to take your case then and only then will things move from snell pace.

I pay 140 a week for daycare it used to be as high as 168 a week and I only recieve $80 every 2 weeks for child support.... I know what you mean. Once she files & they find him she will have a chance to get back child support and she needs to do this! I didn't because I thought they(him and his mom) would continue to watch my daughter during the day adn as soon as i signed that away the next weekend they told me they weren't going to be watching her anymore.

She needs to find someone in his family and get them to give her any info they have on his whereabouts. Same thing happened when I was little. My mom tried to get child support but they couldn't find my dad. Now that I'm a legal age, magically he resurfaces. Go figure. That guy is a punk! Have your friend go to http://www.supportkids.com They might be able to find that deadbeat.

did she really claim it? they have ways of making him pay. they will suspend his drivers license, professional license (such as if he's a doctor, lawyer, contractor, etc), the will give him jail time, etc. so, maybe if he's a real lowlife, none of this will effect him, but otherwise, there will be consequences.

She's probably already on food stamps, and all that other stuff, unless she makes too much money to get it.

if you can find the guy, and if you can prove he's working then his wages can be garnished, additionally, if he's not paying she can file criminal charges in most states
