The body and the "soul," purely theoretical, are for the most part separated. René Descartes is the first to verbalize this when he said, "I think, therefore I am."
Who we are is absolutely defined by our thought, not our body. A soldier returns from a war with his legs removed. People still know him. If not told, those who speak with him on the phone have no idea his legs have been amputated. Therefore, my thoughts are not predicated on my body parts.
This knowledge has existed since man became self aware. This knowledge is why we so fervently believe that our thought will survive our body. Hence, the creation of our religions to explain what happens to our thought after the body can no longer sustain life.
Our bodies are made of light matter. The same form of matter that exists all around us in the table we eat from, the plate, cup and fork, our computer and clothing, all that we see. But what form of matter do my thoughts have? I generate them and communicate them to others, so they do in fact exist. What form of matter is this? They cannot be seen. They have no scent. Yet, by merely thinking it, I can move most any part of my body.
Some may think that the body and mind cannot be separated. I believe that sometimes our mind has such a weak connection to our body that we can suffer physical injury without our mind having knowledge of it. These unexplained cuts and bruises would normally cause us some pain, if not considerable discomfort.
Obviously my mind was "somewhere else" when this injury occurred.
Could it be that our minds, our thoughts, our very soul exist in the same form as the very will of the universe? Is that all driving force that is so great, so powerful that it too is self aware. Is this will of the universe what we call God? Is this what was meant by the words, "Created in God's image."
Are our minds, out thoughts made up of the same unknown substance, or matter, that we have yet to discover? There is a force, or will of the universe that does shapes even the most massive of cosmic events. I believe our minds, our thoughts, exist in that same form.
The body will die one day. The thought, all that one has ever known, all the experience of one's life will survive. They are separate, yet coexist in the same space of this time. So close in physical location that the mind can control the body.
The real question is, how does one connect with that universal force and seemingly travel wherever and whenever? How do we move our thought into the unseen part of the universe?
The same way you move any body parts. You will it to happen. This level of will, shall take considerable practice. It requires you to enter a pure state of thought, an awareness of all that is unseen. Some call this meditation. It's not easy. Once you enter this mental state, you have to remain open to what you will understand, because you most likely will not "see" in the way you are used to. You will "see" as the blind do.

I can only think of two.
Kill yourself, to which you can never prove there is any soul.
Take drugs and hallucinate. since you are under the effect of drugs, which decrease your rational abilities, your statements are not taken serisouly.
Other things are jsu tnonesense, like standing still for many hours that your brains just starts doing stupid things people interpret as "OOOO Souls and astral projection!"
All you have to "get" is that if you look into the websites that are skeptical about these things, all of this soul stuff is bunkers.
the only think I have a few hopes on is tha tthe human brain can do things we still don' tknow.
I'm not talking about reading minds and stuff. But things such as optimism induced healing or something.
Psychology inducing your brain to do things that will chang ehow your body works. Not paranormal at all if understood.

You suggest Cartesian dualism. This is a classic category error. There is no "ghost in the machine."
Consciousness is a process of the brain, not a physical thing like religious metaphysicists believe. You cannot separate a process from the physical machinery carrying it out.
Just like you cannot separate a heartbeat from a heart.

It's too complicated a process to discuss on Answers alone. Here's a good reference:

And don't let the naysayers pursuade you away. To astral project, you must realize that many conventions you know are not as imaginary as they seem.

There are guided meditations that can help you do that. If that is where you are starting on your journey, it's much like trying to learn basic math by reading a book on calculus. Learn how to meditate first, how to visualize places and make them real. Then, in your meditations, you can learn how to go to those places and spend time there. It's a process of learning, and you can't just jump in the middle and expect to get it.

subject your temporal lobe to patterns of magnetic fields/
electrical stimulation of the right angular gyrus in the temporal lobe
also you can train to lower activity in the posterior superior parietal lobe (Orientation association are) by meditation.
Various drugs work too, but may leave some damage behind.
Read a couple of books about meditation and brain activity.

"separation rigidity" ... in many circumstances modern-day in little ones while dad and mom pass away yet ... in re: "Is it genuine pot seperates the soul from the physique?" (sic) answer: no longer likely. I see numerous semantic confusion here, in all risk by assumption of "duality" ... that would ensue here because of the fact "listening to the words" makes human beings "assume" that there are separate entities reported as "soul" and "physique". .. and that those '2' can 'separate' (as though in default, they are 'united') Indulging in abstraction can carry approximately errors being made, while the "kind" (assumption approximately soul and physique) is used to foretell "territory-shape" ... a individual can actual wander off
