Is there a time limit in regards to forwarding an estimate to the person's insurance company? It's for a car crash that just happened and I need to know if two weeks is too long? Thanks!

Isn't your insurance company helping you or guiding you with regards to the time lines, etc.? I wouldn't mess with them unless you know your limitations by law.

Two weeks is not too long. Do take care of this quickly though--the longer you wait the more of a hassle it will be. If you are going on vacation or something you can wait, but don't make the insurance company think you are someone who lets things fall through the cracks.

The sooner you file the claim and provide an estimate, the better. Call the insurance company within a week to follow up.

Once they have acknowledged receipt of your estimate, check with them every few days for issuance of your check.

Don't be shy!

The sooner the better but two weeks is nothing to worry about. I think the statute in the U.S. is generally 90 days for a claiment to present a claim to another party.

The sooner the better, otherwise they usally send out a thirty day letter stating if no estimate recv'd within 30 days they close claim.
