i mean, if your senator or congressman supports this amnesty bill, or any of the bullcrap that is renamed amnesty, how hard will you fight to get them out of office? what can you do? what will you do? or, if you disagree, why do you want to give away your country? and dont just be a flaming idiot, try to convince me.

i just wanted to add a little thingy...
i think the first step in actually correcting the problem is to make it hard to get here... build a fence... ever seen the fence around a prison? say there is 700 miles of fence... a guard tower every mile with one sharpshooter would be enough to keep you from jumpin the fence... if a .50 caliber sniper rifle, and razor wire doesn't stop you... i'd say you earned something.

I have already written my congressman. The problem is that we all thought that we live in a democracy. We the legal citizens of this formerly great country do not count. We live in a republic. Why don't we all just stop paying taxes. Who cares if it's illegal, congress will grant us amnesty. It's not really that complicated...if you are here illegally, you need to leave.

I once drove a city bus. Each day I talked to at least three people about what our less than desirable mayor was doing. I did not bash him, just presented the facts. I learned a lot from those conversations too. About a year later, when he decided to run for governor of the state, he did not carry his own city or the nearby counties. The other candidate from across the state won easily. I would like to think that I had a big hand in that. This is a great forum for getting your thoughts and ideas out to a large amount of people. Do it. One person can make a big difference. I spend time here to try to get people to think about different situations that are happening. Join in-present your facts.

Supporting amnesty is not giving away your country. It's neither feasible nor realistic to deport all illegal immigrants, the cost would be too great for little benefit. They come here illegally because the alternative is to pay money (that they don't have) and wait at least 7 years to come. If you fix the immigration situation, less people will come here illegally. If they pass this amnesty bill, this has to be the last one. It must feature immigration reform so that the system can start working, and enforce security at the border.

I agree that Amnesty is not giving away your country. If only everything could be explained in such a simplistic way!
The United States has a LONG history of keeping a "pet underclass". Look at the Irish, Italians, Blacks, Japanese, Catholics, etc. The U.S. encourages them to come (or just straight out kidnaps them, lol) encourages them to work for a pittance, encourages businesses to hire and keep this labor force, encourages them to spend their money here, at the same time denying them some very basic human rights and subjecting them to prejudice and ridicule by the ruling masses. This has been going on for a few hundred years man, it doesn't seem that the situation has changed any, only the race has.
The United States will NEVER deport all of the illegals. It's bad for business. And if there is one thing that the United States has ALWAYS stood firm on, it's making money off of an underclass, either illegal or U.S. citizens.
As for myself, I don't care one way or another. I know many illegals who act more "American" than some citizens I know, and I would rather give my tax dollars to some of the hard working guys standing at the Home Depot who are hustling each day to support their families than to some career welfare mom who sits at home all day watching Court TV with her eye on the mailbox.
While I sit here every day watching the sad but inevitable decline of our once great country due to the policies of one of the most bizarre, arrogant, and corrupt administrations in our history, while U.S. troops are dying and killing others, while our freedoms are being stripped away one by one, when the media is screaming about what's cool and what's not instead of reporting the truth, while genocide is running rampant in the world, when the cost of everything has risen but the wages have not, when all the 2008 candidates are posturing and lying through their teeth to try to get your vote knowing that the supreme court can overturn any disappointing results, when religion is the justification for evil, and freethinking has become a dangerous pastime, I could give a rat's about someone who came into the United States illegally, is working his butt off in a field picking veggies, and trying to support his family. More power to him.

I'd do whatever I had to to get done what I believe needs to get done so long as it was the truth.
As far as this bill, I don't see how you guys call it amnesty. It seems reasonable to me. I wish somebody would tell me what's wrong with this bill and what would you do differently.

Boobus Americanus will do what they always do; sit on their butts and complain. They will not get up and out to protest anything - to try to change anything.
If they gave a dam, they would have been in the streets long ago.....

All you can do is inform everyone you know that your congressman/woman supported this bill.

Well, I'm ex-special forces and my background will show you, time and again, just how far I will go to get the job done. But I'm not dumb enough to say anything specific in this forum.
