In many elementary schools in this country, indeed, around the world children are taught that they are "special" and have value as human beings.
This is a logical fallacy that we are teaching our children and it is more based on religion, humanism, and politics than reality. Somehow we must get it into their empty little heads that their lives are worthless and that they do not matter. That they are one member of a swarm of over 6,000,000 walking human meat junkpiles.
Here is my beta lesson plan:
-Ask the children what happens when you swat a fly. Then ask them if all flies disappear after that one is killed. Then clarify the insignificance of human lives.
-Mention the chemicals that their worthless human bodies have in common with household trash and industrial waste. Complete with slide show of various pieces of trash.
-Stop teaching "love" and "kindness" and explain how irrational it is.
Isn't this more logical than all that crap moralist and humanist education?

I am simply being rational. Humans have no intrinsic worth other than the worth they place upon themselves. Outside of human opinion, we are all junk.

I shudder to think what people like you would do if you found out your god wasn't real.
Maybe religion does serve a purpose... It give sociopaths a bogey man to be afraid of, so they'll behave.
Edit - Let me explain something to you. Atheists are smarter than you. We can see right through you, because you are an idiot. You can't even parody atheism, because you're too stupid to understand it. We on the other hand can parody you at will, because, as I mentioned earlier... we are smarter than you. Have a nice day. :)

I think it is you who needs to be re-educated as to your value. What has happened in your life that has caused you to have so little respect for who and what you are? I don't even know you...yet I value you as a human being and would fight with all my might to protect you and your rights.
You are right that this comes from a religious perspective. God has taught us that all people, regardless of what they have or have not done are his children. He doesn't make a substandard product. The human being (regardless of your belief or disbelief) is still the most complicated, most versatile and most intelligent creature on this planet. The human body in all its fraility is still a master work of precision and function that surpasses anything that man could make. The human brain is a thousand times more powerful and infinately more useful than the finest computer. How can you say that this is useless or worthless?
Love and kindness is the desire even if it is not always the reality. Does that mean that we should all throw in the towel and just take everything we can from others and more or less tell them to p--- off? No, I don't think so. If and when the time comes that this world gives up on people...I will be the first to say lets just blow it all up and cut the losses because life would no longer be worth living but in the meantime, I will continue to do whatever I can to make this place a better place...and to help people to believe in themselves and in their value.

No - you're going from one extreme to the other. While I agree that todays children have too much a sense of "entitlement" about everything and they've lost their work ethic, I think if we simply began teaching that hard work is a requirement to get what you want (like we used to), the kids would realize that they have to work for what they get and stop expecting it to be handed to them. I do think it's okay for parents to teach self-respect and self confidence, too. But kids have to know how to both win and lose, and they have to learn that no one is more special than anyone else. If you simply teach them how special they are and never let them lose or feel bad - you end up with a bunch of kids who think they should have everything others have worked hard for without lifting a finger. Seriously. I've watched this happen with some of the children in my life. Imagine the shock and dismay they had when they finished college and realized that in the real world you don't win all the time, and you can't get what you want without working for it, and that they aren't as special as they were told they were. It makes for some seriously angry young adults.
I think your method would make them even angrier and even less adjusted to life in reality with their fellow human beings.

Harry Truman, a single human, changed the lives of millions, not to exclude us. Ghandi, alter the course of history, Jesus Christ and Muhammad, are still changing the world today. All were just one person. Anyone, including an idiot on the internet, can change the world. We don't know who that will be, so why would you tell someone not to try? You might have failed, or given up, that doesn't mean the rest of us have too.

Please do not ever have children or be anywhere near them. If you really feel that way then you need to get some professional help, you are not worthless, you are not insignificant, and you do matter, I hope someday that you can realize that.
God Bless

Yes. Let's have mandatory field trips to the abortion mills. That will round out their education. Then turn them over to the socialist education system for final indoctrination.

Why not start off with a practical demonstration and hang yourself?
Make sure to practice before you try it in front of the kids, just to make sure you really have it down. Snappy presentation is everything!
