Yet, get defensive when they try to do the same? Seems like a pretty one-sided system to me. If you're truly accepting of others and their beliefs, you would never bash what they have to say.

Why do mormons get all bent out of shape when they're confronted with evidence that the prophet was anything but? Or that the scientific community has no evidence whatsoever regarding the BoM's authenticity, yet the church maintains it is a literal truth?

You can be a moral hard-working people, but when you need to make everyone else 'believe' as you do (like islam), you better be ready and able to take a few punches without whining.

Plus, the doctrine is all so very wrong at so many levels. Where shall we start?

I believe my religion is very close to the Truth, but it is not The True One. I believe every religion has a piece of the Truth and if we could simply put our pieces together, we would have peace on Earth, tolerance in all levels and Love spread all over the world. We lack humbleness to understand that simple concept, that we in fact are not the Truth holder... no one of us is! We are different, we come from different cultures and we have different points of view and I believe God meant it to be like that, so that we learn how to grow with the differences. If every body in the world had the same thought, the same religion and the same belief, we would have nothing to learn. I respect all religions and I see everybody in every religion as a brother or a sister, member of the same family. The only difference is that one chooses a different tool to grow spiritually than mine, but that's absolutely OK. Peace!

I'm MORMON and had in the past people telling me I'm wrong.

I am grateful to all those people. Only when people say I'm wrong I can look inside me and become a better person. I might be wrong and indeed I am only human. I might be misusing the gifts GOD gave me, so that's why I appreciate feedback from people. That will make me look even mmore into my beliefs and learn that: yeah! they are righ, I am wrong. I am doing this the wrong way, so I should go this way as the church is teaching me'.

>> everything I say about that satanic cult I believe to be true. I don't need to hear any more of their lies and others need to be warned.<<

I like that. WE lie about what we believe, and HE knows more than we do, even tho what he knows is probably 100% pureD garbage.

>>I don't.

I have specific problems with how Mormonism treats outsiders (proseltyzing, posthumous baptism) and insiders (abandoning polygamy for political reasons, not theological one.)

The first one I've every right to object to, the second one Mormons are welcome to do, but I've got to say that any church that would give up a belief members died for in the past because it would get them a political favor (Utah becoming a State) is a church I would not die for. What if what I died for was the next thing to be abandoned? That's just one of many reasons I could never be a Mormon.<<

Proselytize, Jesus said to His disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Posthumous baptism, that has nothing to do with the living. If the living refuse to be baptised, and they die, they will not accept posthumous baptism either, if they are even given the choice. We don't count anyone baptised vicariously as a Mormon, since we don't know if they accept or reject the baptism, or are even given the chance.

We didn't give up plural marriage so that Utah could become a state. We were excused from it's practice because otherwise, the government would have destroyed our church. Sort of hard to practice something like plural marriage if there's no more church, and you are thrown in jail if you do. Husband sits in jail and wives and children are left to starve. God decided it's better to excuse us from a practice, rather than take on the US government. The only way God would win would be something along the lines of another world-wide flood or something. Sort of cutting off ones nose to spite ones face.

When you have REAL evidence, then we'll listen to it. We get bent out of shape because most of your "evidence" is all lies, or based on lies.

Why do non-LDS Christians get bent out of shape when WE tell them that their creeds are an abomination to God? GOD said it, we didn't. Don't get mad at US about it.

Why do you not listen to OUR scientific evidence that the Book of Mormon just might be what we say it is? I have NEVER seen any refutation of OUR evidence. Nothing intelligent, at any rate. WE have intelligent rational evidence that YOUR scientific "evidence" is nothing. Yet, you keep holding on to it, even knowing that it makes not one iota of difference to us, since we know it's all bunk.

Our doctrines are not WRONG. They are DIFFERENT. Different does not mean wrong. If ours are wrong, then be prepared to hear how YOURS are just as "wrong". It's only fair.

Prejudice, bigotry and fear of the unknown.

Most antimormonism comes from evangelical protestants who don't like Mormons beliefs different from their own.

Antimormons use doctrine out of context, errors and plain exaggeration to attack Mormon and their beliefs without knowing what there own religion is.

They pass along to each other on how to attack Mormons and their beliefs while showing ignorance about their own beliefs.

If you really want to know about Mormons and their beliefs go ask one or ask the missionaries over to your house or read about them online.

Mormons are one of the few religions I stick up for because despite my not sharing their beliefs, I have yet to meet one who was anything but hard working, caring, generous and kind. I know several mormons, and they are some of the best people I've ever had the pleasure to meet.

Right, I completely agree with you. I'm not of any religion but I'm tired of everyone thinking their religion is THE religion. Everyone thinks THEY'RE right. People need to stop fighting/arguing about religion and actually do some good deeds instead.
