I'm asian, I have thick long hair, when it was shorter I can clip it into a bun. Now it's summer, and my hair is longer, the clips kept poping off - I would really like to keep my length. Is there any ways to keep my hair up?

Put it in a high ponytail then take another elstaic and swirl you ponytail into a bun, kind of around the base of the ponytail wrap the elastic around, take a few bobby pins (they even make really big ones for thick hair) and replace soem of the flyaways. Spray with some hairyspray and tadaa...

Do you have layers by any chance? If so then the only thing you can do is let the layers fall down and grip them back, however this is how I do mine. First I tip my head forwards and tie it into a ponytail, normally at the top of my head (however you can put yours wherever you like). I then brush through the ponytail to make sure it's easy to work with and not knotty. After this I pull the ponytail through the donut (or sock). This is the tricky bit- tip your head forward and try and feel if your hair is actually covering the sock or donut. If it's not just fiddle with it so it almost stretches out (just to say my hair is incredibly thin and it works for me after a while so it should cover the whole sock or donut) and then once you have done that, keep your head tilted forward and gently stretch out a hairband and place it around the sock/donut. This parts up to you now. There will most likely be a lot of hair left sticking out, so all you do is either plait it or just gather it and wrap it round the bun, and then grip it. Hairspray it so it doesn't fall out! Hope this helped. :)

This is what I do. if you have layered hair, try putting your hair in a pony tail first, then twisting your hair counter clock wise till about mid way and begin wrapping hair around the base of the pony tail. twist it so any little layered ends you have will pop out giving it a cute effect. When you have the entire thing wrapped around tuck the end of your hair underneath the thickest part of the bun (at the base of the pony tail when you started) and pull it through so it should be sticking out, then fix to place with some hair sticks.
I think it looks great, plus being asian will give it a very natural look to it.

I have long thick hair too. When its wet I usually form it like I am gonna put it in a pony, then twist it and it automatically starts going in the shape of a bun. Then A Nice pony holder or accessories you can find. Hope it helps!

stop wearing it up if you like the length. why have long hair if all you're going to do is put it up? but if you must wear a bun, put it in a pony, twist the hair all the way to the ends, and start wrapping around the pony. secure with another hair tie, and there's your bun

Pull your hair back, like when you make a ponytail.
Twist it until it starts coiling up. Twist and coil until it is all coiled up on your head. Use bobby pins or hair pins to secure, and a whisk of hair spray.
P.S. I don't think ponytails are professional, either. Yes, they wear them to the Oscars, but they also have boobs and navels hanging out at Oscars!

Put your hair in a pony tail and then twist the hair from top to bottom. Then round it up close to your hair. This will work if you have long hair.

If you really want to put your hair in a bun then go for it... When my team and I preform in dance shows we take a sock cut out the toe then roll it toward the new hole, so it looks like a donut. then but it on our ponytail, rapping our hair up and over it tucking it under the sock. use bobby pins to hold in place. It works for us and it should stay in...

Clip your bun the way you used to, but instead of clips..use bobby pins, they are stronger and more durable. Plus, even when you use alot of them, they bury inside your hair so it's less seen and concealed.
