to gayrine77 below, yes Americans are being gouged at the pumps to to pay part of the bill, and being lied to about it. this is not only true, but wrong. Nothing new here. It just confirms that people are basically greedy and given the opportunity will take advantage of the situation to stuff their pockets with money. Similar things happened in the 1950's in the Aerospace industry, when the government was trying to catch up to the Soviet Union. --- That's why I say, nothing new here.
On a positive note: we are hearing about it so a day of reckoning may not be far in the future.

Watching that kind of stuff makes me sick. I cant believe what some poeple do. It just angers me that there are so many problems with our countries finances and we are shelling out our tax money and borrowing from China so a $250,000 car can sit in a parking lot in the desert JUST in case someone needs to use it. Disgusting!

I think its crazy.My hubby is in the Marines and has been deployed to Iraq 3x so far and he says that they get crappy equipment.All that money being spent for nothing could help the Military.I think they should rethink what they are doing and put that money towards something better.Our men and women are in harms way and we don't even get paid that much or even get better equipment like trucks and so on.That's just really crazy.

Wasn't there hearings held on this? I mean, formal, investigative hearings and not the opinions of non-officials. Oh, and congressman don't count, they have a political agenda...even repubilcans.
Sure, there's waste in government spending. And, yes, Halliburton could probably spend better. More important, they should not be making military decisions about transports, etc.
But you also have to ask, who else can do what halliburton can do. Any other companies with the same cpabilities?
