No, the dog isn't on her period. It's her body telling her that she needs to follow through with nature and propagate, and she'll do just about anything to be able to get out of the house and cavort with any neighborhood male dog.

Simply put, she wants to reproduce. She's ready to breed with a male. My female is spayed, and for most it's a recommendation. Although I adopted mine from a shelter, and she was already spayed. I wish she wasn't, her puppies would have been so beautiful. =)
