You pose a very interesting question that I am dying to answer but before I do, let me point out a couple of very important things regarding your question.
1. Texans enjoy use the rule of capitalization. We capitalize the beginning of sentences and very inportant places such as Texas.
2. Texans love it when people use the proper words. Homonyms are very tricky, we understand. Words like there, they're and their are three different words with three very different definitions that can not be used interchangably. There meaning a place. Their meaning belonging to a second or third party. They're is a contraction for "they are." We understand it is complicated.
3. Texans enjoy reading things with proper punctuation. You are not questioning the fact that we are "dunb asses", are you? You sound confident in your accusation already.
This brings me to my last point:
4. Texans love it even better when you know how to spell. Literacy is a very important thing so you will not look dumb yourself. We do not like to look like we do not know what we are trying to express in writing.
This is why we have high school and ged programs.
I encourage you to look at a elementary english book for a list of rules regarding spelling, punctuation, captialization, and homonyms. It will help you tremendously when you are trying to be funny and look like a DUMB *** anyways :)
So, I guess we aren't the ones looking like a dumb *** right now, are we?

Texas is great...it is the native Texans, like George Bush that are the mistakes.

I used to think so, with all the mistakes that have come from there. You know The Mexican war ( we should have just let them have it), the Bushes, the Death penalty, The Dallas Cowboys, The rednecks, etc.. But, than I met this really nice, cute girl from there, so I guess there is at least one good thing from Texas. She since relocated to California.

No, Texas is one of his greatest successes. You, are one of his worst mistakes, and your parents' biggest mistake.
P.S. Geoff or what ever his name is is a stupid liberal

"If I owned Texas and Hell, I would rent Texas and live in Hell."

Having gone to grad school in Texas, I would have to agree. Austin is a pretty hep town, though.

I've lived in Austin, Texas for almost 50 years, and I think it's pretty darn nice ... why don't you like it? Have you lived here, and if so, what part? I've lived in other states, too, so I have a frame of reference.
We don't have state income tax, either.
