I am a hayfever sufferer, but this does NOT look like hayfever.

Two possible explantions come to mind.....the first is a swelling of the conjunctiva which can balloon forward and look rather gelatinous in some allergic/inflammatory situations. This is called chemosis. It can come on rather suddenly. The second is when a wedge shaped portion of the "white part" or conjunctiva/sclera covers the cornea and is know as a pterygium. This does not come on suddenly. So, my feeling is it's option number one and something has gotten into and irritated your eye. See your eye doctor for an evaluation and treatment.

Not really sure what you are trying to describe here. Do you mean that the white of the eye looks like its inflated, or larger than normal. If so, could be hayfever, best see the doc. on this one.

I had a similar problem many years ago when there had been a chemical spill in my town and my eye became very irritated by the chemical vapour and the white of my eye was swollen - I went to my local accident and emergency department, who checked very thoroughly what the damage was. Your sight is too precious not to have this checked properly. good luck.

Go to an ophthalmologist or optician as this sounds like a very very bad infection.

1] you have an infection , or
2] you have injured your eye , or
3] you have very bad vision
You should not have pain like that - go to the doctor.
You need an OPTHALMOLOGIST, not an optician - go to a doctor's office!

Go to eye dr. right away. Doesn't have to be expensive - go to one of those that are next door to the eyeglasses store, like Eyemart Express or Lenscrafters.
