Karl Marx, (my hero) once said that religion is the opium of the masses. Once you become a christian, you don't have any more problems and you are not actively searching for any more answers because you believe that you have them all...

i would like to know how you think you know Christians are spiritually dead. what do you mean by "spiritually dead"? how would you evaluate it? can you tell just by looking?
the fact is, you have absolutely no way of knowing the spiritual status or level of spiritual "life" of anyone except yourself. the soul isn't something you can measure by any human standards.
as for myself, i am a Christian and my spirit is very much alive, thank you.
and about not being "ourselves" . . . you were close on that one . . . i am myself and no one else . . . i simply belong to Christ. everyone serves something in this world . . . money, fame, ambition, lust . . . i would rather belong to Christ than any of those things

Some are; some aren't.
Those who are- usually call themselves 'Christian' for the wrong reasons-because people expect that of them, they don't want the hassal of people trying to convert them so they call themselves that but don't even go to church or read the Bible, religion isn't important to them so they say so out of habit or because their parents were Christian, etc
Those who aren't- usually keep it to themselves. More modest they are, and less noticeable.
Everyone has their own path.

Thinking they are better than others. No matter what the reasons. Christ accepted everybody. He had lawyers, tax collectors and doctors as his apostles, among others. The worst sin against the Spirit is intolerance of others. This stems from pride and narcissism. Rekindle the flame by realizing your sins and repenting.

They don't celebrate their faith, they mourn it.
If there wasn't that whole "Eternal Damnation" thing hanging over their heads they could loosen up and have fun.
I feel sorry for them, poor christians :(

Spiritually retarded. Nothing hinders personal growth more than clinging mindlessly to theological dogma like a collection of zombies.
