we have been together for 6 months and we want to move in together. is there such a thing as moving in "too soon" with someone. we are very much in love and want to get engaged very soon.

i am 22 and he is 21.

It might or might not be..depending on your ages. If you would like to try it I suggest you have a "back up plan"
( money saved in case he kicks you out or on case you chose to leave) You want something to fall back on in case it doesn't work out so that you can freely walk away from it and not stay stuck in a nasty situation.

One of the hardest things on earth is to live with another person. It's about compromise. I don't think it's too soon as long as you're not making a large commitment. I wouldn't buy a house together yet nor would I add my name to a lease until I know we're not going to choke each other. Keep it casual and see how it goes for another 6 months. If you care about each other there is no harm in waiting.

Is this a joint tenancy agreement? Did all three of you sign it? You and your boyfriend are classed as a couple and have to make joint claims together. Your boyfriend is expected to support you. You can probably apply for Housing Benefit and Council Tax benefit. (from your local housing office) Without knowing your boyfriends salary I do not know if you are eligible. Take your tenancy agreement along to your local housing office with your boyfriend's last 3 payslips and ask to apply for HB and CTB.

That would depend on how old you are. If you are under 24 yes its too soon. Over 30, well if it is right it's right. I don't mean that if you are young you are making the wrong decision I just mean that over 30 and single chances are you have both seen enough bad relationships to know when you have a good one.
If this is a good one, hold on tight....

It is a general rule of thumb that 6 months is not a considerable amount of time to move in together. Everyone is different and it COULD work for you. But generally, it does not. Good Luck.

I started dating my fiance in March 2006 ... we moved in together the middle of June ... I couldn't be happier with my decision ... it felt so right from the beginning I told myself to go with the flow - and it's been getting better and better everyday ... 8 months later he proposed - Sept. this year we'll be married ... as long as you can take care of yourself if things go bad - you'll be just fine ... good luck ... this is a huge step - go with your gut feelings ... they're usually right on point ... !

Give it a little more time. Feelings can change. You don't want to jump into everything, not have it work and then be disappointed. It sounds as if you are trying to rush everything. Give it a little more time, and let time tell. If the feelings don't change, then go for it. If something changes, then just be careful.

Seems a bit of a rush but just make sure you've got a Plan "B" should things not work out (a place to go)...it's just being realistic.
Good luck!
